Research Note: Mark M. Renfrow, 67, of Shell Knob, died November 26 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Mr. Renfrow was born September 18, 1934, in Kansas City, the son of Pete M. and Ethel Rose (Isley) Renfrow. He was a journey electrician and had lived in Barry County since 1969. He worked as a maintenance supervisor at Fasco in Cassville, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Shell Knob and had served as a volunteer deputy sheriff in Barry County. Survivors include three sons, of Sedalia, of Shell Knob, and of Cassville; two brothers, Pete Renfrow of Ozark and Roy Renfrow of Cave Springs; four sisters, Mildred Beckett of Grandview, Rose Heimsoth of Aloha, Oregon, Ethel Schmidt of Belton, and Joanna Scrivner of Flemington; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Renfrow; three brothers, Lawrence Renfrow, Hugh Renfrow, and Donald Renfrow; and one sister, Margaret Kerr. Services will be 1 p.m. tomorrow, November 29, at Williamson Chapel in Shell Knob with Rev. Jim Ogan officiating. Burial will be in Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. She married Mr. Evans and Mr. Keim. - Eleanor M. Richey, 79, of Shell Knob, died June 11 at her home. Mrs. Richey was born September 16, 1921, in Telluride, Colorado. She was a graduate of Butte Senior High School in Butte, Montana. She and her husband operated King's Men Carpet Cleaning for several years before moving to Shell Knob in 1999. She married Herbert L. Richey on April 21, 1983, in Sheridan, Wyoming, and he survives. Additional survivors include two sons, of Billings and of Shepherd, Montana; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Willowby and Sy Willowby; one daughter, Sharon Smith; and one grandson. Graveside services were 1 p.m. today, June 13, at Painter Cemetery in Shell Knob with Rev. He was born February 18, 1936, in Sedalia, the son of Herbert S. and Icey Marie (Bultemeier) Richey. He was employed as a maintenance man at Tyson Foods. He was in the carpet cleaning business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. he was a member of the First Baptist Church, Shell Knob, and the order of Eagles. He married Esther J. Frazee, and she preceded him in death. His second wife, Eleanor Richey, also preceded him in death on June 11, 2001. Survivors include two sons, two daughters, and nine grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.,Saturday, June 26, at Painter Cemetery with the Reverend Bob Gaddis officiating. Research Note: He was the son of Howard H. and Nannie E. (Holeman) Fielder. In March, 1998, he was united in marriage to Laura (Rochovansky) Alred, who preceded him in death on August 4, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents. Jim grew up and graduated from high school in Kansas. From May 3, 1955, until February 4, 1957, he served in the United States Army. In October, 1964, he moved from Bronson, Kansas to Shell Knob where he was a carpenter, working for Waldemar Oswald. He was a member of Bridgeway Assembly of God Church in Shell Knob. Jim was one of the driving forces in making Central Crossing Fire Department what it is today. He and the Oswald crew built fire house #4 on YY and County Line Road and also #3 on 39 South and H Highway at no expense. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Erskin Sapp, her brother Bill Bible and son-in-law Thomas Schroeder. Lenora and Erskin raised their three children in Delhi, California where they owned and operated a service station. After retiring they began their RV life and enjoyed traveling across the US. Erskin passed away in 1996, in their favorite little town, Shell Knob, Missouri. Lenora came to live with her daughter Linda and Bob Speetzen in Texas in 2002. For the past few years she has lived at Granite Mesa Nursing home in Marble Falls and Windchime At The Village in Kingsland, Texas. Scott in September 1945, in Uhland, Texas; he preceded her in death in 1983. They lived in Austin, Texas until May of 1980 when they moved to Shell Knob, to make their home. Meta was an avid gardener, known far and wide for her lake patio full of flowers every summer. She was a founding member of the SOLO's (Society Of Lively Oldsters) in Shell Knob. It was through SOLO's she met Karl Koos, who was a large part of her life for twenty years until his passing in 2005. In 2007 she moved to Thomas Hollow to be near her family. Research Note: John Darrell Shaffer Jr., 72, of Shell Knob, died December 1 at Carroll Regional Medical Center in Berryville, Arkansas, from injuries sustained in a traffic accident. Mr. Shaffer was born October 11, 1928, in Kansas City, the son of John Darrell and Myrtle Kathryn (Cocke) Shaffer Sr. He had been in the gas pipeline business and moved to Shell Knob from Raytown in 1984 after selling the business. He built the Viola Country Store, Mobile Home, and RV Park, which he operated until 1990. He was a Presbyterian. He was married to Velda Shaffer, and she preceded him in death. He was married to Jane Shaffer, and she preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, John Shaffer III of Shell Knob; one daughter, Kathy Sole of Kansas City; three brothers, Robert Shaffer of Liberty, Roy Shaffer of Raymore, and Bill Shaffer of Kansas City; one sister, Ellen Hardin of Blue Springs; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Sheets was born January 4, 1930, in Holt, the son of Emmett and Opal (Taylor) Sheets. He worked for the Gas Service Company in Kansas City as a heavy equipment operator until 1973 when he retired and moved to Shell Knob. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lowry City, and a member of the Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine in Kansas City. He was also a farmer and carpenter. He married Joanna James on May 29, 1954, in Independence, and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, of Concordia; one daughter, of Shell Knob; two brothers, Herbert Sheets of Cleveland, Missouri, and Fred Sheets of Drexel; two sisters, Zella Hare of Lee's Summit and Verna Smith of Blue Springs; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, at the First Baptist Church in Shell Knob with Brother Wayne Write and Rev. Bob Gaddis officiating.
