The John Wesley Hilton family migrated from Scott County, VA, in approximately 1853 and settled three miles southwest of Crane in what became known as Hilton Hollow. Seated: Martha Hilton Lee (Mrs. Millard A. Lee), Alice Smith Hilton, Ibba Hilton Duckworth (Mrs. Van Duckworth), John Wesley (also known as Jackie), and Nancy Hilton Ellis (Mrs. James H. Ellis). Standing: Isaac, George, Jonathan T. (known as Barry), Alfred M., and John W., Jr. Other children not pictured include William H., Joel Berry, and James A.
