Pythagoras Lodge 1910

Pythagoras Lodge - No. 383, AF & AM - Cassville, MO, 1910 - A Hinckey Photo

Here is a listing of the people who are pictured below in the photo.

This information is not from my original picture (which seems not to be anywhere) but from a newspaper article in July 1977. I am listing the names as they occurred in the article:

"This 1910 picture of the officers of Pythagoras Lodge No 383, A. F. & A.M., of Cassville, includes many of the area's leading citizens of the time, names which are familiar in the area 67 years later.

Pictured [l. to r.] Front row: Monroe Black, R. G. Salyer, Samson Cozad, unidentified, and Dr. O. H. Thiele.

Back row: Dr. W. T. Bailey, Charley Ray, Simp Frost, Jefferson J. Eden (L. Moore note - it should be James Jefferson Edens), J. S. Plattenburg, Hiram P. Sons, and Bert Robbins."

Research note: I still have Grandpa Edens' "apron" or whatever it is called. There were other items related to his service in this organization but one of mother's cousins took them. James Jefferson Edens was my great grandfather LoVella Moore

Left to right - front row - is the Junior Deacon, Senior Warden, Master (in the hat), Junior Warden and Senior Deacon. Stewards (with identical cornucopia emblems topping their rods) stand at each end of the back row.

The heavy set man in the middle - back row - is James Jefferson Edens, he was the great grandfather of of LoVella Moore

Here is a listing of some people who might be pictured in the photo.

In 1902 Capt. Livingston, was master of the lodge.

On the back row, 5th from the left, could be Evan Shore?

Michael Horine was a member and he was in the abstract office in 1910 - information from obit and census.

Anson Harrell, died 1918 - was a member - information from obit.

John Thompson McCary, a member - died 1916 - information from newspaper.
