Text | Thomas D. Lathim, familiarly known by his Barry County friends as "D" Lathim passed away at San Antonio, Tex., Oct 18,of heart failure, age 36 years.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lathim of Mano and a brother of Will Lathim and Mrs. J. L. Mitchell of this city. He taught school a number of years ago in Barry, Lawrence and Jasper counties and was one of the successful and popular teachers in these counties. Later he accepted a position as traveling salesman for the Richardson Dry Goods Co. of St. Joseph and continue with that firm since. "D" was one of the finest of young men and poplar with everybody. He had a number of close friends in this county who were deeply grieved to receive the sad news of his death. A wife, one son, Clark, parents, four sisters, Mrs. J. L. Mitchell of Cassville, Mrs. Lora Carr of Shell Knob and Misses Laura and Alma Lathim of Mano, three brothers, Will of Cassville and Willis and Guy of Mano survive him. |
