| Text | Newton L. Hailey, one of the most prominent citizens of Barry County, passed away at his home in Cassville, Monday morning, May 31st, at the age of 72 years.
Mr. Hailey was a veteran of the Confederate Army and has served the people if Barry County in the capacity of assessor for two terms and one term as sheriff. He will be remembered by his wide acquaintance throughout the county as one of the leading public spirited men of his time. Funeral services were conducted at Cassville Tuesday, Mr. J. S. McQueen and J. T. Johnson of Wheaton attended the funeral. |
