Headline Mrs. Elizabeth Goodnight Dead
Text Mrs. Elizabeth Goodnight, widow of the late George M. Goodnight, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. D. Manley, in this city, Monday night, May 11, 1914. The deceased had been in poor health for some months, suffering from paralysis, and complication of other diseases. Though not until last week did her condition become serious.

Mrs. Goodnight was born April 3, 1842 in Giles County, Tenn., and moved with her parents to this county in 1856 where she grew to womanhood. She was married to the late G. M. Goodnight in 1864. She was the mother of four children, two living. They are Mrs. C. D. Manley of this city and Mrs. Arthur Frost of Neosho.

Mrs. Goodnight was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church. Her influence was always for good and in her death the community has lost an excellent Christian mother. She resided in Cassville for a number of years and number her friends by her acquaintance. The members of the family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community in their loss of a devoted and sacrificing mother.

The funeral services were held at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. C. D. Manley, Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hickman. Interment was made at the Goodnight Cemetery north of Purdy that afternoon, after short services at the grave, conducted by Rev. Smith.
