Their children were Dr. James J., Robert C., Dr. Oscar S., Barney P., John F., Delula, and Uda. Dr. James J. received his literary education at Pierce City, MO and in Vanderbilt University, Nashville. In 1879 he studied medicine under his father and in 1880 entered the medical department of Vanderbilt University and graduated in the spring of 1882. In the same year he located at Exeter, MO and began practicing medicine there for five years. On July 1, 1887, he came to Monett, being the second physician in the city. Co., CA, buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Glendale, Los Angeles Co., CA. - July 23, 1897 Springdale News - Mrs. E. C. Pritchard died a few days ago at Eureka Springs and the remains were taken to Illinois (incorrect) Monday for interment. Mrs. Pritchard was formerly a resident of Springdale and has a large circle of friends here. She had been in ill health for the past few years and was a great sufferer. She leaves a husband and 2 children, to them The News tenders their sympathy. - July 27, 1897 Eureka Springs Times-Echo - The death of Mrs. Hettie A. Pritchard, wife of E. C. Pritchard of Springdale, AR will be sad news to the many friends of the deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Pritchard have been frequent visitors to Eureka Springs in the past and were widely favorably known. Mrs. Pritchard was a estimable lady and was beloved by her friends. The remains will be taken to Monett tonight for burial.
