SSW: Helen Marie - Inscription: "Married July 16, 1950" - Research Note: He was the son of the late Roy and Etta (Scott) Nichols. His family moved to Monett when he was thirteen months old. He married Helen Ballay on Sunday, July 16, 1950 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Monett. Bob retired as Warehouse Manager and Purchasing agent at Friend Tire Company after forty years. He is a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen on Thursday, March 4, 2004, two sisters, Christine DePriest and Mary Terrell and one brother, Jack Nichols. He second married Clara (Burks) Blackburn on Friday, May 22, 2009 in Aztec, New Mexico. Bob served his country honorably with the Army National Guard achieving the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He was a great lover of country and bluegrass music, playing with Country Colors Band, he was on the board of directors at McDowell Golden Jubilee for over thirty years. As a young man, he had worked for the Monett Police Department. For many years, Jack also worked with the Monett Volunteer Fire Department. On February 21, 1953, Jack married Peggy Lee Curtis. To this union, three children were born. Jack and Peggy were blessed with over sixty-one years together.
