Research Note: He was the son of Clarence Lloyd and Pansy Perkins. Connie graduated from Southwest High School in Washburn, Missouri. He worked doing odd jobs while growing up, delivering newspapers, gas/propane Company and was always tinkering with cars. The young boys in the neighborhood were always at his house trying to get some car running. Connie was known all over the county. He finally opened up a shop and started fixing anything that came in the drive, cars, trucks, tractors, hay binds or rakes. He could fix it and was very concerned about fixing it right. He lived and breathed cars and trucks. He had several farmers that called him and he could tell them how to fix their problem over the phone. His business became very busy. In between, he met a young lady named Jane Hammond, married her and they had four children. They bought and moved to Connie's grandparents' farm. He decided after years of working as a mechanic, that he could better himself and his family by going to Saudi Arabia to work in the oil fields. He did and spent off and on fifteen years there. In 1998 he retired and picked up a lot of his customers he had before he left. He was elected Commissioner to the Sugar Creek Road District in Seligman. He got all the county roads paved during his time as a commissioner. He was also the treasurer with the Fire Department in Seligman. He was a member of the Cassville Cruisers. Connie is one of the last of the shade tree mechanics, so to speak. Connie slowed down on mechanic work and for several years did air conditioning work in vehicles and tractors. He enjoyed working on his farm taking care of his cattle. Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garfield, Arkansas. Connie is one of the last of the shade tree mechanics, so to speak. MURRAY, John Franklin Sept. 18, 1824 Feb. 19, 1892 Research Note: From James Lawrence Murray Collection - "After marriage, Jan. 3, 1850, John Franklin and Marilda (Siler) went to live with Aunt Patsy Murray on Hickory Creek near Chaska (Campbell Co, TN). With them went Joseph Huff Murray, younger brother of John Franklin Murray. No definite relationship established between Aunt Patsy and James S. Murray, but she was probably his aunt by marriage. - John Franklin Murray was a scholar and mathematician. He was the son of James Shadrack and Mary(Ruston) Murray. He was born in TN on Sept. 18, 1824. He was never too robust, but lived to be 68 years old. He and Rilda were married by Calvin R. Barrow, J. P. (Justice of the Peace), on January 3, 1850. After their marriage, they lived and farmed with his grandmother, Aunt Patsey Murray, at her farm in Big Creek Gap, near the present town of LaFollette, TN. It was Aunt Patsey who had "raised" Lucinda Evans, Rilda's mother. Aunt Patsey's real name was Martha Davis Murray, the wife of Christopher Murray. She was 86 years old when John and Rilda moved in with her. Aunt Patsey probably died soon after the birth of Rilda's first child. In her will, Aunt Patsey left her farm to a slave, called Aunt Lett, which probably accounts for the move of John and Rilda about that time across the state line into KY, where most of their children were born. In 1870, the family moved to Cole Co., MO, where Mary was born. Following her birth in 1871, they returned to TN, and remained until 1886 at which time they moved again to MO and settled at Seligman, where John F. Murray died on Feb. 18, 1892 and Rilda on July 17, 1917. Both are buried in New Salem Cemetery. John and Rilda had 11 children in all. (This is on page 10-48 and 10-49 of the Siler Family, Roots and Shoots book, published in 1882 by Theodore E. "Ted" Siler, of Springfield, MO.) J. F. and Marilda are the parents of: Jane 1861 KY, Hiram 1862 TN, John 1865 TN, Perry 1867 TN, Mary 1871 MO, ???Lucinda 1873 TN, Josephine 1878 TN. Family History

Her death certificate states her birth year as 1832 and her death date as July 27, 1917. She was buried on the 29th. - Cassville Democrat, August 4, 1917 - Mrs. Murray an aged lady of near Seligman, died sometime in the early morning of Sunday at the home of her son H. M. Murray, where she had made her home for sometime. The remains were interred late Sunday evening in New Salem Cemetery after Rev. Ph. H. Hodge of Washburn, conducted funeral services. She was the mother of eleven children, nine of who are living. She was the mother of H. M. Murray and Mrs. Chas.
