Dora was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Neal Gaydou, her parents, brothers; Glenn, Rolland Dale and Gene Morris and sister, Bonnie Morris Simmons. Neal and Dora raised their family on a farm in the Wentworth-Pierce City area. Dora was a homemaker, farmer's wife, gardener, seamstress and a loving mother. Neal and Dora retired to Carthage, MO in 2006. Research Note: He was the son of Ed and Lynna (Boucher) Gaydou, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dora Morris Gaydou of Carthage, MO. Neal was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church, rural Pierce City and was a 1944 graduate of Pierce City High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and served as a Military Policeman 677. In September, 1944 he met qualifications as a Marksman M1 Rifleman. He participated in the Battle of Luzon GO 33 WD 45. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and the Philippine Independence Ribbon. He was Honorably Discharged on November 1, 1946. Neal was a member of the American Legion Post #419 in Freistatt, MO. Upon returning home from the service, he married Dora Morris on July 4, 1948. They made their home and raised their family in the Pierce City, Wentworth area. Neal was a lifetime farmer, although he did work at Teledyne, Neosho and retired from there after 10 years, returning to full time farming. Haddock, 82, who died at 5 PM, Sunday, April 21st at St. Vincent's Hospital following a short illness, will be at 2 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church, Monett. Rev. Grady Cockerham will officiate. Burial will be in King's Prairie Cemetery, southeast of Monett, under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home Monett. Mrs. Haddock was born April 9, 1892 at Purdy. She had lived in Monett for the last 32 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her husband Samuel Haddock died in January of 1935. After his school years in Tennessee, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp and later served in the United States Navy as well. On August 5, 1950, in Saugus, MA, Tennessee and Mabel Strong were united in marriage. To this union, six children were born. In 1954, the family moved to Monett. For over thirty-two years, Tennessee worked for Jumping Jack Shoe Co., retiring as a Foreman. He was 1st Commander of the V.F.W. He was the mail carrier in Monett, then mail clerk. After his health began to fail he took a trip out west which failed to help him. He came back to his old home last November where he remained until his death. He was very patient through his sickness and ready for his Master's call. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Our loss is Heaven's gain. He was 27 years old. Rev. Hammer and Susannah Cartwright Newby. - December 15, 1910, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Departed this life at her home on Kings Prairie, Dec. 7, 1910, Mrs. Martha Jackson, age 75 years. She leaves three sons, Allen, Henry, and Andrew, all of the Prairie, one brother and two sisters, Rev. F. E. Hammer of Springfield, Mrs. Kate Lucky of Marionville and Mrs. Brown of Floresville, Texas. She was married to I. K. Jackson in 1856. The funeral services was held at New Liberty Church conducted by Rev. Geo. Qualls, pastor, in the presence of a large and sympathizing congregation. The remains were laid to rest beside the companion of her youth, Uncle Ike Jackson, who proceeded her 15 years ago. Aunt Martha, as she was familiarly called, professed Jesus Christ in early youth, joined the M. E. Church when it was organized at New Liberty, 33 years ago. She was a kind and affectionate mother, loved and beloved by her children and a devoted Christian. Her prayers and pleadings for the unsaved made deep impressions. In the organization of the New Liberty Sunday school 35 years ago by J. M. Hover and Samuel Moore, which still retains the same, Aunt Martha took charge of the primary class. When a new house was built a few years after Uncle Ike bought the old log house and moved it in his years where it had been standing these long years as a reminder from day to day of her pleading to the little ones for a pure life. Rob graduated from Verona High School with the class of 1984 and then furthered his education at MSU, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree. Rob then obtained his Master's Degree from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla. He was very talented with this type of martial art, teaching self-defense classes to men and women as well as being a Judo Instructor at MSU. Rob worked for many years at Jack Henry and Associates. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Monett, as well as a member of the United States Judo Association and U.S.A. Judo. She second married Frank A. Cornell. - Cassville Republican, Thursday, Nov. 14, 1918 - We regret to hear the death of Lloyd Jones of St. Louis. He was a son-in-law of W. H. Fleming of Kings Prairie. He was buried in the Kings Prairie cemetery Saturday evening. - Cassville Republican, Thursday, Nov. 14, 1918 - Funeral For Loyd Jones Saturday: Mrs. Lloyd Jones of St. Louis arrived here with the body of her husband Friday morning. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Methodist church. Interment will be made in the Kings Prairie cemetery. Mr. Jones was a fireman on the Frisco out of St. Louis. On Monday he had a stroke of apoplexy while on his engine and was taken to the Frisco hospital in St. Louis. On Wednesday his condition was so much better that his wife went to the hospital to take him home. He had another attack before he could be moved and after intense suffering he died at 8:30 o'clock. His body was brought to Monett, his old home, accompanied by his wife and six of his brother firemen, who will have charge of the service at the grave. The deceased was 38 years old. He is survived by his wife, two brothers and four sisters. His parents died some time ago. He was a nephew of Lloyd B.
