Back Row: Charles Ball, Eldon Ball, Isaac Newton Garrett, Amos Newton Garrett, and Finas Ball (On Mother’s original copy she has Mary Kitterman instead of Talitha Henderson.) Picture taken about 1915. Mother knew several of these people and I tend to go with her ID of Mary Kitterman instead of Talitha Henderson. If you want just put a ? and use Mary Kitterman. You see I don't know who told me it was Talitha Henderson. Finas Ball in the back row was a nephew of Isaac Newton Garrett as Finas' mother was Sarah Elizabeth Garrett Ball Reed. They were the children of Newton Jasper Garrett and his wife Louisa Bridgeman Garrett married September 22, 1836 in Atlanta, GA. It is said Newton was a singing teacher. In Oct 1837 he was commissioned as a 1st Lt. in the Campbell Co. Battalion, George Militia Florida/Seminole Indiana War. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining bounty land to which he may be entitled under the "act granting bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States.
