MCCULLAH, Clinton Douglas "Clint | Dec. 28, 1980 |
May 15, 2024 Cassville, Barry Co., MO |
Research Note: Beloved and much-anticipated first child of Doug and Kay (Tichenor) McCullah. Clint's childhood was spent among his multiple cousins, and eventually his younger brother, Matthew. They enjoyed time with close knit extended family and attended regular services at Ridgley Southern Baptist Church. Clint made his first trip to church on Jan. 10, 1981 with his parents, PaPa J.C., Granny Marilyn, great-grandma Mae McCullah, and Aunt Tammy. He was welcomed by the many church members who loved the McCullah family for years. Clint was saved on Feb. 6, 1995 and was baptized by Brother Danny Heupel in Woodard Creek on the Graceson Stamps farm. He was a life-long member of Ridgley Southern Baptist Church. Clint was a stand-out athlete, receiving a full college scholarship to attend college to play basketball after he graduated as Valedictorian for the Wheaton High School class of 1999. In 2001, Clint married Melina Wilken. This union brought the birth of Tayler Rae, Clint's pride and joy, who would forever be the light of his life. While raising Tayler he continued serving his Lord and knew the importance of keeping Tayler in church. Clint later married Alicia Navarre in 2007 and Stevie Horine in Apr. 2024. In spite of a childhood filled with love and family support, Clint battled many demons during his adult life. As the years passed Clint was drawn into worldly living and these demons convinced Clint of many untruths, leading him to believe that the best way to protect his loved ones was to end his own life. He did not attend church on a regular basis, but he never lost his salvation and knew he was a child of the King. Clint's daughter and family take comfort in the fact that Clint knew and loved Jesus, and that they will be reunited with him in heaven. Surviving are his wife; his parents; a daughter; a brother; two nephews; and aunts and uncles. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Pat Tichenor; paternal grandparents, J.C. and Marilyn McCullah, and an uncle, Joe McCullah. | Fohn Funeral Home L. Pearce FindaGrave |

They will make their home on the McQueen farm west of town. - Wheaton Journal, Thursday, November 1, 1928 - FIRE DESTROYS BOONE MCQUEEN'S HOUSE - A large two-story house and most of its contents, belonging to Boone McQueen of near Corsicana, was destroyed by fire Wednesday evening. Mrs. McQueen attended the funeral of Mrs. Overton at Wheaton and on returning home she told her husband there was an unusual amount of smoke coming from the house. He had just filled the stove with wood and thought that was what caused the excess smoke, but when Mrs. McQueen went out of the house in a short time afterwards, she discovered the smoke was not coming from the flu. Mr. McQueen went to one of the up-stairs rooms and cut through the ceiling with an axe and just as he did so the flames broke through. It had gained so much headway that it was impossible to try and check it. The wind was blowing in the direction of the barn and several men were kept busy protecting it from the flames. It caught fire several times but was extinguished each time. We were unable to learn how much insurance Mr. McQueen carried on his house but from reports it will not near cover his loss. | Note Photo Ralph and Betty Lamberson Online Newspapers Phyllis Long |

June 5, 1950 Cardwell Hosp., Stella, Newton Co., MO |
SSW: Lettie - Research Note: He was a son of James Elbert and Mary (Gilbert) McQueen. Wife given as Florence. B. D. McQueen of Wheaton, MO was the informant on the death certificate. - Wheaton Journal, June 6, 1960 - John Silas McQueen, son of the late James E. and Mary McQueen, was born in Lee County Va,. Apr. 30, 1877 and departed this life on June 5, 1960 at the Cardwell Memorial Hospital in Stella. At the age of 7 he came to Missouri with his parents. He was converted when a young man and remained a devoted Christian all his life. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Wheaton. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Letta Lambert. They had four children, Elaine, who died in infancy, Thelma, who passed away May 9, 1954, Bernice, who resides in Medford Oregon and Malloy of Washington, D.C. Other survivors include three brothers, Boone of Wheaton, Harrison of Exeter, Lester of Bellflower, Calif.; one sister, Nota of Joplin: numerous step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. McQueen were active in community and church affairs, and except for four years he was county Collector at Cassville, spent their entire married life in Wheaton and vicinity. On Dec. 19, 1943, Letta McQueen was called to eternal rest. He was later married to Rena Davidson, who was deceased in Feb. 1950. In August of 195? he was married to Florence Vineyard, who survives. Those who knew Silas or "Mac" as he was often called, know that he most literally carried out the thought of the poet as, "he lived in a house by the side of the road and was friend to man" He was a firm believer in the Master’s words the meaning of which is "if you have aught against your neighbor make it right and then bring your offering to me". He was active in community work, was for many years manager of the Strawberry Association in Wheaton, served two terms as State Representative from Barry County and at one time was a partner in the Wheaton Hardware store. His main occupation, however, was farming and that was his first and last love. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and in the beauties of nature found great joy and a renewal of his natural love of life. Those who mourn his passing grieve only for their loneliness for they know he has gone to live in the home not prepared by hands, but eternal in the heavens. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 O'clock at the Wheaton Methodist Church by Rev. I. L. Belden assisted by Rev. Paul Tripp. Joe Lamberson sang, "Near to the Heart of God" accompanied by Sheila Goodrich at the piano. Pallbearers were Olin Cartwright, Virgil Paden, Otto Ruppert, Ord Barnett, Bryan Wolfenbarger, and Earl Lamberson. Burial was in the Muncie Chapel Cemetery under direction of McQueen Funeral Home. J. Silas McQueen was the first Postmaster of Wheaton from its beginning in December 23, 1907 to December 16, 1914. - July 31, 1913, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Wheaton News: J. S. S. seems to have had a more severe jolt than the others of the family but all recovered. We have not been informed as to whether his contamination with that bunch of republicans at Kansas City last week had anything to do with the attraction of lightening or not. | Photo Ralph and Betty Lamberson Death Certificate Online Obit Online Newspapers Phyllis Long |

His parents are given as William W. and Maggie E. (Wiseley) Myers. Madge Myers (his step-mother) of Newtonia, MO, gave the information. - Neosho Times, May 6, 1915 - Olen Myers, son of William Myers was born in the year 1901, died Apr. 28, 1915 at his home northeast of Newtonia, aged 14 years and 3 months. His death was immediately due to appendicitis, having suffered from heart trouble for several months. He has attended the Newtonia public schools for several years and was pronounced by his instructors as extremely diligent. His studiousness was plainly marked by his manly desire to rank among the best of his classes. His manner toward his teacher was at all times beautiful in its quiet politeness and strikingly sympathetic in his daily preparation of assigned lessons, which was a much greater task to his uncomplaining nature than any one at that time suspected. Perhaps at no time was the kindliness of his character shown more than when he was caring for his only sister, who is some years younger than himself. His mother died when he was a mere child and he has since considered it his brotherly duty to take her as a constant companion, bravely shielding her from any seen danger. He accompanied her to and from school as long as his health permitted. He will be no less missed by his Sunday School class, who warmly welcomed him as one among them and showed their deep respect and profound grief by attending the little body as pall bearers, tenderly carrying it to his last resting place. The class gave a large bouquet of carnations, while his school teacher gave a beautiful cluster of white blooms. This was quite in keeping with his wishes, being a great admirer of flowers. He expressed himself again and again at his mother's grave, about the beauty of the floral offerings. A few days before his death he was told by some of his boy friends they were coming to see him soon. His reply was, "boys, if this pain doesn't leave my side, I'll not be here long." An answer which might have been given by a person much older than himself. He leaves a father, William Myers, a devoted step-mother, two brothers Roy and Raymond and a sister Faye, to mourn their loss. He was laid to rest beside his mother at Muncie Chapel cemetery. | Photo Ralph and Betty Lamberson Death Certificate Donna Cooper Obit Phyllis Long |
