Headline MRS. WILSON LANE DEAD
Text Another home has been broken and saddened by a sudden calling to that sweet land of rest, in that spirit land of eternal felicity in that city on high, where mansions have been prepared for all that have obeyed His will, by accepting Him as their personal Savior, which she did many years ago and lived a faithful consistent Christian life. An excellent wife and loving mother has bid farewell to the earth and gone to her everlasting reward.

Mrs. Eliza Lane, beloved wife of Wilson Lane of near Purdy, was born in Douglas county, Missouri, September 15, 1851. In 1865 her parents moved to Barry county and on February 9, 1868 she and Wilson Lane were married. To this union were born ten children, six of whom are living, who are: Sheridan Lane, Mrs. Rilda Cowherd, Mrs. Susie McKee, Purdy, Mrs. Anna Harper of near Butterfield, Sherman Lane of Clayton, New Mexico, and Mrs. Addie Cowherd of Butterfield. She leaves her husband, children, thirty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother to mourn her departure.

Mrs. Lane united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1871 and lived a zealous and faithful servant of her Christ. She died May 22, 1919, at 11:15 P.M. , at her home 1 1/2 mile west of Purdy. Rev. E.W. Love of Joplin, conducted funeral services on the 23rd at her late home after which the remains were interned in the New Church Cemetery.
