Death came as the result of a heart attack suffered early Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Lowery in the Purdy community where he resided at the time. Mrs. Henbest had passed away several months ago.

In his earlier life he had taught in the rural schools of this county and prior to his retirement had operated a real estate business here.

On October 10, 1897 he was united in marriage to Minnie Ledgerwood of Shell Knob and to this union four children were born. Three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Sanders of the New Hope community, Mrs. Lowery of Purdy, Mrs. Tillie Giddings of Washburn, and one son, Bill of Washburn.
