Dilatation? of heart was given as the cause of death. - W. A. Winton Passes Away - W. A. Winton, son of Rev. Wiley B. and Sophia Winton, was born near Wythville, Wythe Co., VA, Aug. 6, 1858, moved with his parents to IA in 1857 where he grew to young manhood, then coming with his parents to MO in 1872. He was converted in early life and lived a true Christian till God called him to his heavenly home. He was married to Anna B. Killingsworth Nov. 12, 1879. To this union were born seven children. Ione, who died in infancy; Mrs. Viola Allen of Mesa, WA; Otto W. Winton and Judge G. D. Winton of near Monett, Mrs. George Spears and Mrs. Charles Foster of Caldwell, KS, and Mrs. Pearl Amber, who passed away Feb. 12, 1917 and one sister Mrs. Laura Russell of Lockwood. Mr. Winton was raised in a parsonage home, surrounded by Christian principles that influenced his after life to its close, and it was through his life and prayers that each of the children were brought into the fold of Christ and are now living Christian lives. Mr. Winton was a good and useful man, honest and conscientious in all his dealings, and was held in very high esteem by all who knew him. He was the same manly man both in public and private life. But it was in his home that his princely character showed at its best. He was a most devoted husband and father and leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five children and fifteen grandchildren and one sister. The world is all the richer by the lives of such men as Mr. Winton but he heard the call, and gone out and away from us and we are left under the shadow of a great sorrow but we sorrow not even as others who have no hope, but hope comes to our relief and whispers to us that death does not end all and that some bright day when the mists have all cleared away we shall meet him where partiings never come.
