Research Note: Callaway Funeral Home records read that the funeral for this unknown male was on Aug. 25, 1911, place of death, box car in Monett. Cause of death, heart or stomach trouble. Tramp buried IOOF, Aug. 25, 1911. He was 5'8" and had eyes of gray, hair was dark, had a sandy mustache and a beard white, wore a slouch hat and blue shirt, dark checked coat and had 2 bottles of medicine and a pipe, age about 40 years old. No name was known and so no name was given for this death record. His death certificate gives his death date as Aug. 24, 1911 and his burial date as Aug. 25, 1911. It reads that he was about 48 years old and that the cause of death was apparent heart attack. There were no names listed on the certificate. Research Note: Callaway Funeral Home records state that an unknown boy was buried in IOOF on the 22 of May 1912. That he was killed by a train, 2 miles west of Monett on railroad. He was age 19. Since most of the unknown persons that the cemetery log book has listed are not dated, it may be difficult to find out what plot and grave he is buried in. His death certificate reads that he was about 18 years old. He was crushed while attempting to board a train.
