B. Durnil was the informant. - July 18, 1912, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Mrs. L. B. Durnil Dead: After a long illness with a nervous disease, Mrs. L. B. Durnil died Monday, July 15, at 12:20 o'clock p.m. Funeral services was held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Baptist Church, Rev. W. A. Todd, the pastor, having charge. Mrs. Frances Durnil was born in Garland County, Arkansas, March 25, 1853. She became a Christian early in life and joined the Baptist Church. She has lived a consistent Christian life. She was married November 2, 1891 in Hot Springs, Ark., to L. B. Durnil and for the past seventeen years has resided in and near Monett. She leaves her husband and one daughter, Clara, to mourn her loss. Two sisters, Mrs. S. C. Cardin and Mrs. Byers, reside at Hot Springs, Ark. Durnil and Lavinia Jennings. - 1880 Census, Wash District Pat'A Mountains, Pima, Arizona - Age 30, single, listed as a prospector. - 1873, registered to vote in Los Angeles, CA, age 23. - 1900 Census, Pierce, Lawrence, Missouri - age 49 with wife Frances E., age 47; Clara M., age 4, daughter; Susan C. Hooper,age 41, sister-in-law, widowed. - Cassville Democrat, January 27, 1906 - L. B. Durnil, Mayor of Monett, on behalf of the taxpayers responded to Mayor Frost (Mayor of Cassville). Mr. Durnil complimented Mayor Frost on his address. He spoke in high praise on the unity of feeling between all sections of Barry county over the erection of the efficient manner in which the County Court and Building Commissioners had spent the money, and County Clerk Manley had stated to him that the last cent of indebtedness would be paid by May next. Mr. Durnil said the new structure was equal to many Kings homes; that he had the pleasure of visiting the palace of Queen Marie Antoinette in Versailles, France, and that the new home for the poor is more modern and better equipped than that Queen’s home. In closing his remarks Mr. Durnil quoted the scriptures injunction, "He that gives a cup of water in my name shall not lose his reward."
