Fannie is buried at Truelove Cemetery. - Obit: Reed, Charles Calvin - Son of Mose and Martha (Roller) Reed, was born December 23, 1885, near Clantonville, Arkansas; and departed this life March 26, 1978, in the South Barry County Hospital, in Cassville, Missouri at the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 3 days. On April 6, 1906, Charles Reed was united in marriage with Miss Fannie Thompson, daughter of William Thompson and Mary (Truelove) Thompson, and to this union four children were born. Fannie preceded her family death in July 1919. A daughter Willie also preceded Mr. Reed in death in 1926 and a son, Marvin, preceded him in death in 1937. The other children survive --- Mrs. Lucille Hulsey of Chicago, Illinois and Carl Reed, of Wichita, Kansas. Some three years after the loss of his first mate, on August 26, 1922, Mr. Reed was united in marriage with Ottie (Lent) Burchett, who had also lost her first mate to death. To this marriage which lasted over 50 years, three children were born --- Willis Reed, Frankfort, Illinois; Hubert Reed, of Cassville, Missouri; Miss Lavelle Reed also of Cassville. Mr. Reed had been a farmer as a young man, and later worked from 1923 into 1942 for the Tidewater Oil Company near Drumwright, Oklahoma; and later returned to Barry County, Missouri and remained a farmer until retirement. He and his devoted loving wife, Ottie have made their home at 500 West Street, in Cassville, Missouri for the past ten years. They are both members of the First Baptist Church of Cassville. Besides his loving wife, Ottie, and children named above, Mr. Reed is survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers--Jake and Fred-- and by 2 sisters; Mrs. Jannie Beaver and Mrs. Ola Bowman. Mr. Reed is survived by one brother---Elmer Reed, of Climax Springs, Missouri; and by two sisters--Mrs. Leona Montgomery, of Springfield, Missouri and Mrs. Nora McCollum, of Rogers, Ark.; and he is also survived by a half-brother--Clyde Reed, or Gentry, Ark. and by a half-sister---Mrs. Cleva Snyder, of Camden, Missouri. Reed received a message stating his brother Thos. Reed had died in Florida, and his wife was sending the remains here for burial. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Reed left here early in the fall for Florida to spend the winter for Mrs. Reeds [Reed's] health. The message did not give any other particulars. #2. January 8, 1914, Cassville Republican - Exeter News: The remains of Thos. Reed arrived from Florida Thursday morning and was laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery. #3. January 8, 1914, Cassville Republican - Obituary: Thomas H. Reed was born in Maryland, Oct. 6, 1841. About the age of sixteen, he came to Missouri where he made his home generally except the time which he served in the Civil War. Forty one years ago he professed faith in Christ and united with the Baptist Church at Middletown, Montgomery County, Missouri. A wife and five children survive, two sons having preceded him to the Great Beyond. Brother Reed died at Lynn Haven, Florida, December 26, 1913, age 72 years, 2 months and 20 days. He and Mrs. Reed had gone there only a few weeks prior to his death to spend the winter. His body was shipped to Exeter for burial and arrived Thursday, January 1, 1914. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. M. Smith in the presence of a large crowd of friends, neighbors and relatives. Research Note: Cassville Republican, March 18, 1943 - Oren Noel Roby was born Feb. 29, 1856, near Shepherdsville, Ky. He passed away March 9, 1943, aged 87 years and 9 days. He was converted at an early age and was a consistent Christian man. He lived in Cassville for a number of years and later moved to near Exeter where he died. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, March 11, at Exeter, conducted by Rev. Chas Vanzandt. Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery, at Exeter. Flower girls were Viva Thompson, Lora Edens, Effie Stubblefield, and Ruby Lee. Died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jim McNabb, three miles northwest of Exeter, MO on May 9, 1929, after a lingering illness with Pelegra, aged 44 years, eight months and 3 days. She was married to A.E. Ryan, Sept. 9, 1900. To this union seven children were born, all of whom were with her during her illness and death. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and seven children, five grandchildren, two sisters, one brother and her farther, Morris Bayless.
