Goodspeed's 1888 History of Barry Co.: "The Inmon House, at Seligman, was built by M. S. Inmon in Nov. 1881, and he carried on a hotel there until the building was rented to William Piper, during whose term the house was burned, in 1882." M. S. Inmon's grocery store burned in the Seligman fire of Jan. 22, 1883. M. S.
