Rayburn worked for Barry Electric Cooperative in Cassville where he was always greeting his customers with his warm infectious smile and made many lasting friendships throughout the years until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Rayburn was preceded in death by one brother, Dennis (Butch) Haddock, one sister, Elinor Aldridge, and infant siblings; his brother-in-law, Ronnie Pointer and sister-in-law, Christine Haddock. Sarah was the daughter of William and Lucy (Udaley) Browning, Jr. Ransom was a son of Charles Haddock, Jr. and his second wife Susan (Meyers) Rumbaugh. Obit: Ransom Haddock, 88, died at his home in Exeter, MO., about 4:00 a.m. this morning, January 21, 1941. Haddock was a native and lifelong resident of Barry County and has 150 living descendants. He was born near Pierce City, MO., December 19, 1852, the son of Charles and Susan Haddock, who were among the earliest settlers of Barry County. He is survived by four sons, Alford and Charles, two of Exeter; George of Butterfield, MO; and J. When but a child she came with her parents to Barry County which has since been her home. She was twice married. Her second husband was Everhart Hadley, a well known citizen of this county, who died in 1894. To them were born six children all of whom are living and were at the funeral. The children are: Mrs. Price Stapleton, Thomas Hadley and Miss Lottie of Exeter, C.H. Hadley of this city, Leonard of Ardmore Okla., and Charles of Denison, Tex. Everhart died May 10, 1894 and his remains were laid to rest in the family graveyard (Henry Hadley Cemetery) on the old home place. Research Note by Dar Randall: Elizabeth Jane Hadley was married to my 5th great grandfather, Evehart Hadley. He was married twice as well. Elizabeth Jane Hadley was married to Thomas H. Dilworth. Research Note: Stone looks like 1968 but is not correct according to his father's death certificate. Obit - Area Man Dies of Bullet Wound - A middle aged Gateway man died last night, apparently of self inflicted gun shot wounds. The man, Charles Hagood, said to be about 55, was found about 9 a.m. today by Mr. and Mrs. Lon Foster, who operated a Conoco service station in Gateway. Hagood lived in the back of the station, and helped the Fosters operate it. Hagood had borrowed a 22 rifle from friends, telling them he would take it home and oil it. When the Fosters arrived at the station this morning they found the doors still locked, When they investigated, they found Hagood's body lying on the floor in the back part of the building, where he lived. - He had been married to Vasta Lorenza Webb. Soon after his marriage he went to Kansas where he worked for a while. Returning to Cassville he worked at the Cassville mill and later assisted in building of the ice storage plant here. Early in June he moved to Purdy to work on the building of the farm-to-market road between Purdy and McDowell. Death came as the result of a heart attack suffered early Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ethel Lowery in the Purdy community where he resided at the time. Mrs. Henbest had passed away several months ago. Born November 8, 1870, in Flat Creek township he had made his home in this community all his life except for a brief period when he lived southwest of Exeter while teaching school in that vicinity. For many years he had been active in Democrat politics in Barry Co. and began a long career of surveying by being elected as County Surveyor and Highway Engineer about 1900. In his earlier life he had taught in the rural schools of this county and prior to his retirement had operated a real estate business here. Research Note: Washburn, MO resident. She was daughter of Rolla and Myrtle (Johnson) Houk. She was united in marriage to Fred H. Henry on March 26, 1967, in Marshall, Missouri; he preceded her in death on July 4, 1994. In 1968 she moved to Washburn with her family to make their home. Mrs. Henry and her husband were followers of The David Terrell New Testament Holiness Church of Dallas, Texas, and also had a small church in their home. They preached on many radio stations including KURM and KAMO in Rogers, Arkansas, and ARF and KRMO in Monett. For many years Mrs. Henry published an article about the Lord and scriptures in the Barry County Advertiser called "For It Is Written." Survived by a son with the surname Jordan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William J.
