Research Note: He was born in Sacramento, California, in an elevator on the way up. And up in the world he went. He loved nature, airplanes, and was raised in the country where his father was superintendent of a pear orchard during the depression, He had two older brothers, John, who became prominent as an engineer in Aerospace and Ray, an insurance executive who also raised five children in the country of the Ozarks. John and Ray preceded him in death. Wes attended Sacramento City College and San Francisco State College, completing three years. Then he was asked by Chet Helms to do posters for his dances at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco. Bill Graham also ran the Fillmore, and the posters became very prominent in American and world culture. Wes was married twice, once for two years and he spent 54 years with his second wife who still holds down the farm in Aurora, MO. He has six children, ten grandchildren, and one great grandson, age three. Wes painted, did commercial art, fine art, and had a job as a print supervisor at City Utilities in Springfield, MO. for eight years.He raised cows, chickens, and landscaping the farm was his dearest love. The farm is called Living Water Ranch and he wanted to be buried close to his true home. He is survived by his wife, Eva, and his children, grandchildren and great grandson. He has many friends and followed Jesus Christ. Wife of Harrison Zinn, father __Woods, mother Mary "Polly" McKinney. - Her death certificate names Harrison Zinn as her husband and her father as Woods and her mother as McKinney. The dates match with King Funeral Home and the stone. - An Aged Mother Passes. Lydia J. Woods, was born in Giles County, Tennessee, February 27, 1836, died at her home near Leann on August 28, 1930, at the age of 94 years, 6 months, and one day. Mrs. Zinn had been enjoying good health until about two years ago when her health began to decline. She was confined to her bed only about two weeks before her passing. She came to this county with her mother and three brothers when she was only 14 years of age. She was married to William Harrison Zinn on January 1, 1854 (1857 according to county records) and to this union were born 12 children, 5 sons and 7 daughters; seven have preceded her, two boys and five girls. The husband preceded her in death on June 29, 1888. The children surviving are T. C. Zinn of Leann, W. M. Zinn of Rocky Comfort, James H. Zinn of Portland, Oregon, Mary Stubblefield of Cassville, and Nevada Wiley of Clayton, New Mexico. She united with the Church of Christ some 50 years ago and has lived a consecrated Christian life. Funeral services were held at Leann on Friday, August 29, conducted by Rev. Geo. Cotrell in the presence of a host of friends and internment made in the Leann cemetery by the side of her husband to await the resurrection day. - November 19, 1914, Thursday, Cassville Republican - Leann News: A.
