When she was a child, her family moved to MO and soon bought a farm near Wentworth, where they raised chickens. Nancy attended school in Pierce City, graduating in 1954. After high school, she attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, graduating from there in 1958. She then went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in education from Southwest MO State University (now known as MO State University). Nancy began her teaching career in Thayer, MO. She then moved to Waynesville, MO where she taught reading at Partridge Elementary in Fort Leonard Wood for many years until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of the MO State Teachers association and greatly enjoyed working with children. Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting and playing games like Mexican Train dominos. She would often be heard saying, "Oh, I goofed", "Well, forever more", or "good grief" which resulted in lots of laughter. She also enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel music and attended several concerts in the area. In 2018, Nancy moved to Joplin, MO to live with her sister Glenda. She regularly attended Hope Baptist Church. Nancy will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that she is in Heaven with the Lord and her family that has passed on.
