Research Note: She was the daughter of Arvel Lloyd and Lucy Dell (Slape) Butler. On June 12, 1960, in Springdale, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to William Jordan. She is survived by her eight children, one brother, three sisters, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Baby Jordan, one granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Jordan and one great granddaughter, Summer Jordan. Dorothy grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Springdale High School. She continued her education in Mississippi where she attended college. She lived in several states during her life, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Alabama and Mississippi but her roots were in Arkansas and Missouri. She was a loving wife and homemaker, always caring for her family first. She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, Seligman and the Eastern Star. Research Note: He was the son of Chester and Ruby (Holmes) Jordan. On June 12, 1960 in Springdale, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Dorothy Butler, who preceded him in death on August 9, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a granddaughter, Mary Katherine Jordan. William moved to Garfield, Arkansas in 1955 from East St. Louis, Illinois. He joined the United States Army and served from August 21, 1956 until August 13, 1959, during this time he served in both the Cold War in Germany and the Vietnam War. After returning home he was employed by Easco Hand Tools in Springdale, Arkansas as a tool cutter and grinder. In 1998 he moved to Seligman, Missouri where he was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Burial with military honors will be at Jordan Family Cemetery in Seligman, Missouri. Fohn Funeral Home
