Research Note - He was the son of Guy M. Hale and Lela (Moore) Hale. He graduated from Midway High School in Newtonia, Mo. During World War II, Mr. Hale served in the Air Force. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after three years of service. He retired as a foreman from B.F. Goodrich after 31 years of service. He married E. Louise Rose on Nov. 29, 1940. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Jan Hale in 1976; his parents; one brother, Gordon Hale, and one sister, Lela Francis Hale. Service were 10 a.m. today at G.A.R. SSW. Nancy - Research Note: He was a son of Frederic and Elizabeth (Rochelle) Hisaw, served in the Missouri Confederate Army. William married Nancy Richardson, Dec. 6, 1855, Barry Co., MO. - October 27, 1906, Cassville Democrat - On Nov. 4th, Judge Hisaw of Capps Creek will be 71 years old, and excepting four months of that time, he has been a resident of this county. Who can beat him, for being the oldest resident of Barry County? - Cassville Republican, June 19, 1913 - William Hisaw, one of this county's pioneer citizens, passed away at his home on Capps Creek in the northwestern part of the county, Friday, June 13, at the advanced age of 77 years, from cancer of the stomach. He had lived in this county since the early thirties, having moved when only a year old with his parents who came from Tennessee. His father, William Hisaw, was one of the early settlers of the county, having settled on Capps Creek near the Newton County line in 1836. From infancy he has lived on the same farm homesteaded by his father. During the Civil War he served two years and ten months in the Confederate army as a member of Company G. Eight Missouri Infantry. In the eighties he served two years as a member of the county court from the western district. At that time he took an active part in all enterprise that were for the public benefit. On December 6, 1855, he was married to Nancy Richardson who also came from one of the oldest families to settle in this county. She died about eight years ago. To them were born seven children. Five are still living. They are: Mary E. West of Oklahoma, Melissa L. Slankard, Mary S.
