Hugh Lawson Jackson was the son of William K. and Mattheny (Wilson) Jackson. He was born in Tennessee in 1814. He married Hulday Wilson, August 18, 1837 in Knox County, Tennessee. They moved to Barry County prior to 1860.

Hulday died December 23, 1875 and was buried in the family burial grounds. Hugh took Biddy Etheridge as his second wife. They were married in Barry county, October 10, 1876.

Hugh Jackson died July 3, 1887. His exact grave site is unknown. However grave dowsing reveals an unmarked adult burial lying on the north side of the Hulday Jackson grave.

There are these marked graves at this cemetery and at least three unmarked graves.

Mary Luvena Feb. 22, 1875 Aug. 21, 1875 Research Note: Her parents were Thomas Monroe and Lucinda "Lucy" (Oakes) Jackson. She was born in AR and died in Barry Co., MO. Frances Albert passed on the information that Kate and John McPhail have done a great deal of research on the Jackson family and that credit should go to them for the dates, which match the newly found stone. - Stone Repaired & Set Note
