Research Note: There is a discrepancy on the spelling of her first name, Nicea, Nicy or Nicey. Death certificate reads Nicey Pierce Cameron born Nov 4, 1842, Russell Co, KY - died Mar 13, 1915, from an injury to her hip from a fall. It also states she was divorced, the informant was Joe Cameron. Parents were William Henry Hadley and Elmira Antle. Stan's Note: Nicea or Nicey married Joseph M. Cameron on Apr. 4, 1872 in Barry County. The marriage is recorded as being between Joseph Camdon and Emily Hadley. Research Note: Everhart was a son of Henry and Elmira (Antle) Hadley. The uncommon given name of Everhart was given to several boys in his mother's side of the family. Everhart was married twice. First to Sarah Jane Box on Oct. 16, 1855 in Barry Co. Sarah was a daughter of William and Elizabeth (Green) Box. She died in 1863 and is also buried in this cemetery. His second wife was Elizabeth Jane Bradley a widow of Thomas Dillworth, who was killed by bushwhackers in the Civil War. She was a daughter of Lawrence and Sarah (Green) Bradley. Elizabeth is buried in Maplewood Cemetery. Inscription: "Wife of Henry Hadley -79 Yr 6 Mo 29 Days" - Stan's Note: She was born in what is now Adair and Russell Co., KY - Elmira was a daughter of Henry Antle and Polly Simmons. Henry was probably born in VA and Polly probably in NC. Elmira married Henry Hadley in Sangamon Co., IL, on Jul. 15, 1832. In 1860 after her father's death in Adair Co., KY there was a deed dispute about land owned by her father among the 14 children of her father. It gives the names of his son-in-laws. Besides her husband and children her brother Jacob Antle and family and her sister Sarah (Antle) Grant and family also moved to Barry Co. in the 1850s. Research Note: Sidney Hadley's obit reads that he was a son of Henry Hadley, husband of Sarah E. Ferguson - Sidney Hadley's death certificate has that he was buried in New Church Cemetery. It names Henry Hadley as his father and Antle as his mother. It states that he died from the results of Bright's Disease. It gives his date of death as the 22nd and not the 21st as the obit reads. He was buried on the 23rd by Koon Funeral Home. Albert Hadley gave the information. Inscription: "Sarah - wife of George McKee Aged 61 yrs 7 mo 13 dys" - Research Note: The stone is a metal one, with anchors on the sides. Cheryl posted her death date as 1896 - stone reads 1898. She also posted the days as 18 - stone reads 13 days. Stan's Note: Sarah was a daughter of Henry and Elmira (Antle) Hadley. Calculating her birth from info on her headstone gives a date of Apr. 22, 1837. She was born in KY very likely in Russell County. Sarah married George McKee, Mar. 4, 1869 in Barry Co. Pension record of George reads that the marriage was never filed for record at the Courthouse. George was born Jul. 17, in Butler Co., OH. Cassville Republican, Dec 8, 1898 - Mrs. McKee, of Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, died Monday at 3 a.m. aged 61 years 7 months and 27 days. The remains were interred in the Hadley cemetery. The deceased had been in feeble health for about a year. - Stan's Note: George McKee went on to marry secondly Mary A Grubbs, a widow of James Jimerson. George died in 1914 at Purdy, Barry Co., MO according to his pension file. There appears to be no other record for his death and his burial place is unknown. George might have been married once before he married Sarah. Mary Grubbs died at St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO, in 1918.
