Directions: This cemetery is North of Mano, MO; East of the Rock Creek, on the land owned by Lowell Williamson. The 1909 plat map indicates that Mr. Williams land as being located in (Roaring River Twp) Township 22N, Range 26W, Section 24.

From the intersection of 76 and Highway M go south on M, when you see Farm Road 2225 (on your west/right), Mr. Williams land will be the next farm south of there. If you see Mano cemetery you went to far.

The cemetery cannot be seen from the road. It is located way back in a field, under trees on top of a hill.

A newer sign on the fence reads: "Williamson Cemetery"

Mr. Lowell Williamson is the 3rd generation owner of the land. He has cleaned it up quite a bit; uncovering headstones and standing others up. There are several stones that are no longer legible. The listing on the cemetery page was submitted March 2000 by his son, Frank Williamson.

Hensley. - Nov. 13, 1909, Cassville Democrat - November Grand Jury - Short Biography of the Member of the Jury: James Harvey Aldridge of near Mano, Roaring River township, was born March 1, 1869, where he resides. Has been married twice; first November 13, 1887 to Miss Martha Wise, who died July 22, 1897. Was married to Miss Anna L. Sparks of Golden, April 13, 1901. Has five children by first marriage and one son dead. He is a farmer and is getting along nicely. He is a member of the Baptist Church and a Republican in politics. State Historical Society of MO - His death certificate lists Monroe Aldridge as his father, born TN, and Matilda as his mother. His wife was given as Annie Aldridge and Annie Aldridge, Star Route, Eagle Rock, MO, gave the information. Headstone

Research Note: Her death certificate lists her father as Alfred Alfrey, born Morgan Co., KY, and Polly Bradshaw, born Morgan Co., KY, as her mother. It gives her birth date as Feb. 8, 1842. She is listed as buried in Mano Cemetery. She is indexed by the state department as Carolina McAnesby. Phyllis' Note: According to her death certificate she was born Feb. 8, 1842, in Morgan Co., KY and died Apr. 11, 1917 in Roaring River Twp., Barry Co., MO. On the MO Archives web site she is listed at Edie-Aldridge. DC says she is buried at "Mano Cemetery". Obit reads: Aldridge - Daughter of Alfred Alfrey and Mary Ann "Polly" Bradshaw both born Morgan Co., KY. John McAnespy was the informant. - April 21, 1917, Cassville Democrat - County News: Mrs. John McAnespy of near Mano, died last week of a cancer of the breast, age 75 years and a few days. She was born in Morgan County, Kentucky, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Mr. McAnespy and a happy family grew from this union. They came to this county many years ago where they since resided and she by her splendid womanly ways gained the friendship and good will of all her acquaintances. She left her husband and several children to morn her passing. For many years she had been a member of the Christian Church and was a zealous Christian woman. Rev. F. M. Smallwood conducted funeral services after which the remains were interred in the Aldridge Cemetery. Headstone

Research Note: Francis Marion Smallwood married Susan Aldridge, May 16, 1886 in Barry Co., MO. She died March 16, 1913 and was born June 18, 1842 in Caswell Co., NC, and was a daughter of Andrew Bolen and Patricia (Melton) Aldridge. She had been married before and was Susan Birkes at the time that they married. He had also been married before and Nancy, his wife, is also buried here. He married Nancy Ray on July 21, 1870 in Lafayette Co., MO. His death certificate gives very little information but does state that he had lived at Mano and was a farmer who died from the effects of prostrate trouble. - Cassville Democrat, June 19, 1920 - REV. F. M. SMALLWOOD DEAD - A real good man and citizen has fulfilled earth's mission and his spirit has been wafted to that haven of sweet rest in the Glory land on high there to bask in the sunlight of his dear Savior who promised him eternal life, for accepting the mission he has so faithfully worked for and rendered a splendid accounting therefore. Rev. F. M. Smallwood died at Springfield, Sunday, June 13, after an operation for prostrated glands, aged 69 years, 7 months and 17 days. The remains were shipped to this city Monday morning and on their arrival here, taken to the home of Dr. D. L. Mitchell and thence to his late home near Mano, and were accompanied by Dr. Mitchell, Elisha Shaffer, a daughter and a granddaughter. He was a Baptist Minister and had preached throughout Barry county for many years and taught the doctrines of his belief, with a zealousness and earnestness, pointing the way for many to a better life. Funeral services were held at Rock Creek Baptist Church, by Rev. Wm. Kennedy, Tuesday, June 15, at 11 a. m., after which the remains were interred in Aldridge Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and son. A large number of people attended the funeral services to pay the last tribune of respect to a good man and citizen. - BIOGRAPHY - June 26, 1920, Cassville Democrat - Rev. F. M. Smallwood was a son of late Wm. H. and Sarah J. Smallwood and was born in Callaway county, MO., Oct. 26, 1850. He moved with his parents to Saline county, Oct. 27, 1865 where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Nancy L. J. Ray, July 21, 1871. To this union six children were born, three dying in infancy; two daughters and one son lived to be grown. Mrs. Shaffer of near Mano, and Mrs. Maggie Baze of Ada, Okla., and E. L. Smallwood, when last heard lived at Halleyville, Okla. Rev. Smallwood came to Barry County, April 11, 1883, and located near Mano, where Mrs. Smallwood died March 29, 1884. On May 12, 1885, he was married to Susan Frances Burks, who died March 16, 1913. On Oct. 20, he and Mrs. Sarah Mismier were married. He experience a living faith in Christ in 1880, and united with the Rock Creek Baptist Church in 1885, and was ordained by that church in the work of the gospel ministry in 1891, and was in the active church work of the gospel ministry of Barry county Baptist Association for 25 years.
