SSW: Joseph - Research Note: Homemade Stone - Concrete with Joseph and Katy Doty marked on it. She was listed in the King Funeral Home with a death date of June 15, 1923. "Mrs. Katie" spelled "Katy" on stone. Died at age 73 of Bright's Disease. Funeral bill charged to John Doty. Her death certificate gives June 17, 1923 as her death date. She was listed as widowed and age 73, and death was caused from the effects of Bright's Disease. John Doty gave the information. She was the second wife of Joseph Leon Doty, married December 31, 1865 in Lawrence Co., MO. Research Note: Son of Joseph L. Doty and Rebecca Ann Burcham. Civil War Veteran, Pvt., Co. B, 32nd MO Inf., serving 1 year, 2 months, 2 days. He first married Louisa Jane Berry on July 18, 1861 in Barry Co., MO. At age 51, he second married Telitha (Stone) King, age 41, on Dec. 25, 1893, Barry Co., MO. Edward and Telitha were only married a short time and divorced. Telitha first married Joseph M. King and died in OK. Research Note: August 30, 1894, Cassville Republican - Brother Jesse Ray of the Wilson neighborhood was born May 21st, 1828 (incorrect, should be 1818). The death angel called for him July 28th, 1894. He demanded Christian baptism, June 18, 1893 and lived a Christian life one year, one month, and ten days. His remains were taken to the Jesse Henson Cemetery, where a large congregation of relatives, and friends were assembled to pay their last respects. Luly Reynolds, Mineral Springs, MO, was the informant. His wife was Susan Alice Doty and they married in Barry Co., MO, Aug. 1, 1899.
