Inscription: "Corpl. Co. B. 21 KY. INF." - Research Note: This stone was damaged during the vandalism that occurred at the cemetery. - Phyllis' Note: He was married and a farmer. Son of Andrew Cage, born VA, and Mary Adlinger, born MA. Charles Cage of Exeter, MO was the informant. He died suddenly after being sick for 8 hours. His wife was Mary Jane Smith born IL. - Civil War Veteran, Rank, Cpl., 21st KY Inf, enlisted on Sept. 30, 1861 and discharged on Dec. 4, 1865. He served 4 years, 2 months and 9 days - Note from Carl Montgomery by email: Just a note of interest about the stone at Concord. My father S. M. Montgomery was assessing in Layton Hollow I believe in the mid 1940's or about then. He was assessing at the Cage residence and noticed the stone and saw it was a civil war stone. They were using it for a stepping stone. He persuaded them to place it on their relative's burial site which they did. I recall it being in the SE corner of the cemetery. On June 25, 1955 in Hereford, Texas, she was united in marriage to Alfred E. Chapman, who preceded her in death on February 27, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons in infancy; one daughter in infancy; a grandson, Cyrus Edward Chapman on November 17, 2008; two brothers, Jim Nunn and Jack Nunn and one sister, Lorine Nunn. Mary received her education in Marshfield, Missouri and then traveled to Texas, where she met Alfred.
