INMAN, William G. | Sept. 3, 1802 Newberry Co., SC |
Jan. 16, 1886 Barry Co., MO |
Research Note: Has a mason symbol on stone. Wife Elizabeth born South Carolina, no death date. Sons Luke Thompson Inman, born Tennessee 1837 died, 1913 Barry Co., MO & Wesley G. Inman whose daughter was Elizabeth Jimson (Inman) Madry, born Apr. 5, 1864, died May 27, 1954. - Notes of Jane Gilbert at findagrave.com - William Inman was born in either Georgia or South Carolina depending on which record you choose to believe. He married first Elizabeth (Chandler) Ziegler, widow of John Ziegler, sometime before 1837. By her, he had sons Luke T. and Wesley G. Inman. After Elizabeth died in Giles Co., TN in 1863, William appears to have married a woman named "Allis" who had three children of her own. In the 1870 census, he is listed with her and her three children, and the children all have the last name Inman. The youngest one was 11 years old, though, so unless he was fathering these children while his first wife was still alive, they were not biologically his contrary to numerous family files you'll see on the web. By 1880 William had moved to Barry Co., Missouri and is living next to his son Luke. At this point William is married to a woman named "Adalid K." who is 20 years his junior. I would like to thank Darla Marbut whose efforts with the Calton Cemetery on the Barry Co., MO Rootsweb site helped me locate his grave. - Another Photo | Headstone Note Barbara Carroll Note Jane Gilbert Photo Darla Marbut |

LAMP, Paul Euran | Dec. 7, 1939 Verona Lawrence Co., MO |
Jan. 17, 2024 Verona, Lawrence Co., MO |
Research Note: Son of Earl "Russ" and Catherine Lamp. Prior to graduating from Verona High School, Paul played baseball on several community teams. He worked various machinist and carpentry jobs before settling into farming. He loved nature, wildlife, and especially his birds. His love for his cattle was only exceeded by his love for his horses. As a young man, he enjoyed breaking them and participating in various rodeo events. He passed this love down to his son, Doug, and they spent many hours on the road traveling to rodeos. He was so proud of how Doug excelled in many of the events. Paul also shared a love of gardening, trees, and flowers with his daughter. Paul married Letha (Lisa) Wells on June 23, 2003. Together, they enjoyed traveling, working on the farm, and going to auctions. In 1999, a grandson was born. Paul loved being a grandfather and retired to spend more time with him. They quickly became best friends, engaging in a multitude of activities, including hunting, fishing, and golf. He coveted the many trophies he proudly displayed. Paul and Lisa spent countless hours traveling to his baseball games - a true Papa! The most momentous life experience came in July, 2023 when Paul accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. What a joyous reunion of family and friends he experienced. Paul is preceded in death by his son, Doug, sisters Maggie Helen and Oleta Mae, brothers Charlie and Sonny; and his parents. He is survived by his loving family; a sister; and many relatives and friends. | Buchanan Funeral Home L. Pearce Findagrave |

MARBUT, Electa Birton | Apr. 8, 1892 Barry Co., MO |
Feb. 5, 1910 Barry Co., MO |
Inscription: "Dau. of W. M. & N. B." - Research Note: Death Certificate indexed as Selecta Birton Marbut. Birth date given as Sept. 5, 1897. Also known as Selecta Leota Marbut. - Darla's note: According to the tombstone, her name was Electa B. born April 8, 1892. According to her Death Certificate she was born Sept. 5, 1892. On the DC her brother Tom Marbut gave the information. Her mother was Nina B. (wonder if this Birton/Burton) Marbut. Nina was the daughter of James Madison Marbut who married Rebecca Lock. Electa's father William Madison Marbut was born Nov. 6, 1863, d. Dec. 29, 1935, buried also in Calton Cemetery. William was married first to Nina B. Marbut, 2d to Missouri Lucinda Calton and 3d to Rhoda Frances Hilton who signed Will's DC. Then there is this newspaper article: February 10, 1910, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO - Forest Grove News: J. W. Ennes went Sunday to attend the funeral of Miss Leota Marbut, daughter of Will Marbut. She was a young lady near eighteen years of age. She had made a profession of religion at the age of eleven years and seemed anxious to go. She was buried at the Calton Cemetery, Sunday evening, amid a large number of sorrowing friends. The family are among the best citizens of this county and have our deepest sympathy. - So we have several names of Electa B. Marbut. The reason there is no photo of a tombstone for "Selecta Burton Marbut is that I believe her to be Electra B. Marbut who does have a photo. The birth dates don't agree as her Mother Nina was dead and her brother just a few years older gave the info and probably didn't remember her birth. The death dates are the same on the stone and the Death Certificate. The hand writing on the DC was very difficult to read. Tom may have not known how to spell her name. Or whoever ordered the tombstone may not have known her name...could go either way. When you type in Marbut for Death Certificates, they typed it as Selecta Birton Marbut. I can see where the newspaper called her Leota. If her name had been Eleota with the c and the o confused...in Se..Leota with the N and o confused? Who knows. I don't know how to straighten it out. On Electa's tombstone it reads she was the daughter of W. M. (William Madison) and N. B. for Nina B. Marbut. In my files I have her as Electa B. as shown on the stone with the April 8, 1892 birth date. All the death dates agree. | Photo Death Certificate Note Darla Marbut |
