DINKINS, Rebecca No Date No Date Inscription: "Beloved wife of William Dinkins, Civil War Veteran. Children Lucy and William II - Died in 1862" - Research Note: This is the grave of Rebecca Dinkins, mother of Sarah Agnes Dinkins who married John Riggs in 1871 in Barry Co. The information on the headstone stating that Rebecca Dinkins was the wife of William Dinkins is probably incorrect. Her husband was Henry Dinkins who died in the Civil War in 1863. I believe that Henry had a brother named William, but William died before 1860 so he could not have been killed in the war - the family group migrated from Kentucky to Reynolds Co., MO, and then some of them came to Barry County after 1860. Henry and Rebecca did have children named Lucy and William as the headstone states. Note
