Dale Monroe Davis, age 54, born June 29, 1905 in Reeds Springs, MO, second married Frankie Gramling, age 51, born Mar. 5, 1908 in Harrison, AR, on Oct. 14, 1959 in St. Louis, MO. Frankie had never been married. Dale enlisted in the Navy, on Oct. 9, 1924 at St. Louis, MO and was discharged on Apr. 21, 1926 at San Diego, CA. Cause of discharge was chronic arthritis, abnormal abrasions, and post operative. Research Note: A married housewife, she died of lobar pneumonia. Parents listed as Wm. and Jane (Cook) McGuire of TN. Informant was W. H. Depew of Cassville, MO. - Cassville Republican, February 21, 1918 - Mrs. Sarah E. Depew, wife of E. H. Depew, northwest of Cassville, died February 13 of pneumonia, aged 72 years. She was born in Tennessee and was married to Eli Henry Depew in 1876. To this union five children were born, two of whom, Alice and Andrew, died before the mother did. The three living children are William of near Cassville, Mrs. Mary Turner of Granby and Mrs. Eva Mulkey of Sapulpa, Okla. The funeral was held Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. T. Brattin at Macedonia Church and interment made in the cemetery near by. Mrs. Depew had been a member of the Baptist Church for more than 25 years and was known as a good Christian wife and mother. She married Richard Norman Elliott on Mar. 26, 1948, and they were married for 56 wonderful years. Dorothea was a beloved teacher in Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana and Florida until her well-deserved retirement. Dorothea loved to bake delicious treats and share with whoever visited. She also enjoyed knitting and creating wonderful treasures that we will all have forever. And when she wasn't serving others, she loved to read. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her husband Richard Norman Elliott, her daughter Mary Ann Wimberley, her grandson Brian Paul Wimberley and her sister Freda Miller Horn. Surviving Dorothea are a son and daughter; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Dorothea was a light to anyone she met and everyone will miss her dearly. Buchanan Funeral Home

Mrs. Lottie Farmer, Verona, MO, was the informant. - Cassville Democrat, May 29, 1920 - Dan Farmer of Hungry Hollow neighborhood, 5 1/2 miles northeast of Cassville, has had very tough luck during the last several months in the loss of live stock from broco fever. He has lost 28 head of cattle since November, 8 head of sheep, 94 head of hogs, and several geese died with the same disease. A state deputy veterinarian inspected the stock and pronounced it broco fever. This is a severe loss to Mr. Farmer, but he is standing it philosophically and says it might have been worse.
