She was united in marriage to Willie Birchfield, who would precede her in death, and to their union six children were born. On Sep. 10, 1966, she married Cecil "Jew" May and they had one son. Cecil preceded her in death on Apr. 10, 1993. Evelyn enjoyed working with children and would spend more than twenty years as a lunch lady and custodian for Exeter public schools. A long-time member of Blessing Heights Worship Center in Cassville, Evelyn was a woman of strong Christian faith, praying and reading her Bible daily. An avid gardener, Evelyn's flowers could rival those on any magazine cover. Evelyn enjoyed cooking and no one ever stayed hungry for very long with her around. She took great pride in tending to her house, always keeping it positively spotless. Of all her many roles in life, the one that brought her the most fulfillment was that of family matriarch. Evelyn loved her family fiercely; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the greatest joys of her life. All who knew and loved Evelyn, knew her as Granny. Evelyn was a bright light in this world who will be remembered fondly and greatly missed. Survivors include three sons; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. His first wife was Ruth C. Stephens. - Cassville Republican, January 11, 1912 - Mrs. McNabb Passes Away - Mrs. Vesta McNabb died Tuesday at the home of her son, Corum McNabb, northwest of Cassville. Mrs. McNabb was 84 years old but had been in general good health for a woman of her advanced age until a few days ago when she contracted pneumonia. Her feeble body could not long withstand the attack and she passed peacefully into the sleep of death Tuesday, Jan. 9. Mrs. McNabb was the wife of the late James McNabb, an old and highly respected citizen of this community. She leaves an only son, Corum McNabb. She was a devoted member of the Baptist church. Her membership had been with the Calvary Baptist church since its organization. The funeral services were held Wednesday at Antioch church, conducted by Rev. C.M. (TN) in 1849 and died at her home near Exeter, May 11, 1926, at the age of 77 years and 4 days. On April 28, 1865 she was united in marriage to Powell Robison and to this union was were born eleven children, two dying when small, Mrs. Allie Norman died in 1913, Rufus Robison in 1886. Seven children survive her. They are John and Ebb Robison, Larah (Laura) and Mollie May of Exeter, Joe Robison of Cassville, Pony Robison of Exeter and Harry Robison of Purdy. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with a host of friends. Her husband died Sept. 26, 1924. In 1889 the family came to Barry County which has since been her home. Research Note: He was the oldest son of Ralph and Ruby (Bayless) Williams. He was united in marriage on August 3, 1947 in Monett to Verna Mae Summers, who passed away in 2013. Jack was a graduate of Monett High School where he played football and other sports, and served in the US Army 25th Infantry Division on Luzon in WW II. Williams was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 bronze service star, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze service star. After the war Jack did police work in Monett and Springfield, and was a special agent with the Frisco Railroad in Birmingham, AL. For many years, Jack managed the upholstery fabrication business with KC Cushion in Monett and he was an avid golfer. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Monett Masonic Lodge #129, the Scottish Rite, and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, where was a member and captain of the Barry Country Trikes for many years. On November 22, 1957 in Monett, Missouri he was united in marriage to Shirley Moore, who preceded him in death on November 14, 2003. In September of 2008 in Aurora, Missouri he was united in marriage to Sylvia Leeann Crumm, who preceded him in death on April 4, 2015. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Orville Wiseman, Jr.; two daughters, Rita and Renée; one sister, Dorothy and two brothers, Cecil and Lonnie. Surviving are two sons; three daughters; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Orville grew up and attended school in Butterfield, Missouri. He was an Apostolic minister for over 50 years and drove a milk truck for Kraft for many years among other occupations. Orville was pastor at Cassville United Pentecostal Church in Cassville, Missouri, Cornerstone Pentecostal Church in Joplin, Missouri and ministered in several other churches.
