Research Note: Death certificate indexed under Ausa Edna Anderson. Mrs. Lewis Wisdom of Cassville, MO was the informant. There are photos and DNA information at ancestry.com. about this family. Son of Sylvanus Walker Anderson and Mary Ann Price. On May 1, 1930, he married Emmer Right (McQueen) Spain, widow of James E. Spain, buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. - Memories by Opal Anderson Pate - Aussie Edna, no wonder he went by Jack, he was about 5ft 3in white hair, blue eyes. Wore overalls, plaid shirts and straw hat, walked with a cane, he was the story teller of the family. He would come to grandma's and would sit in the rocking chair, next to the piano. As a kid we played in the family room, next to the living room. Uncle Jack would sit in the rocking chair and would trip us kids with his cane when we came out of the room. He was a fiery old cuss. He usually walked everywhere he went. We were down here for his funeral I can remember going to his house after the services, he was not much of a house keeper. I saw a pair of woman's high top shoes, black and laced up the front, I still kick myself for not getting them, they were great grandma Emmers. | Census ancestry.com Phyllis Long Photo Darla Marbut |

He had been very feeble for months and his passing away came as no surprise to those who knew his condition and advanced age. Peter Catron was one of the counties, oldest and most highly respected citizens and he will be greatly missed in the community. Obituary will appear next week. - November 10, 1910, Cassville Republican - Obituary: Peter Catron was born in Hancock County, Tennessee, May 10, 1828 and died Oct. 31, 1910. There he grew to manhood. With the true pioneer spirit he left his native state and went west and settled 43 years ago in Barry County, Missouri near Cassville. For the most of this time he lived on the same farm about two and one - fourth miles northwest of town. There he built a home and reared a large family and helped to shape the affairs for this county as they have been handed down to the present generation. Sixty years ago he was united in married to Anna England who has survived her husband. To this union were born six sons and two daughters all of who are living. They are Mrs. G. H. Glass of Wyandotte, Okla.; and Mrs. Walter McNabb, of Exeter; Hiram of Tampieo, Mexico; James and William of near Cassville, George of Eureka Springs, Ark.; Jasper and Andy also of near Cassville. Funeral services were held Monday Nov. 1, at Antioch Church conducted by Rev. Ed. Chappell. In the death of Mr. Catron, Barry County loses one of her best citizens, a man of simple stern and upright character, a man whose habits of life were exemplary and who believed in the cardinal virtues of honesty and strict attention to one's own affairs in every regard. In this passing away, another of our pioneers has answered the summons which so many have so recently answered in this county. - Dec. 15, 1910, Cassville Republican - The heirs of Peter Catron met at Cassville Tuesday and arranged the affairs of the Catron estate. Peter Catron left no will but had a considerable amount of property, principally land. All money was given the widow and the land was divided among the eight children in accordance with the wish of Mr. Catron before he died in deeds made to take effect after his death. The deeds thus being void, the eight children mutually agreed to each execute deeds in accordance with what they knew their father's will to be. They avoided any necessity of an administration on the estate and divided the estate with entire satisfaction to all. | Online Obit Census TN Marriage Records Phyllis Long Photo Darla Marbut |

J. & Jennie Cockrell, Budded on Earth to Bloom in Heaven" - Research Note: His name is given as Cottrell in the paper. - Cassville Republican, December 25, 1913 - Sad Death: Wilson, a thirteen months old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Cottrell, who resides northwest of town, died Saturday evening about 7 p.m. of stricine [strychnine] poison obtained from taking several tablets of heart medicine. The sad accident occurred shortly after Mrs. Cottrell's trip to town to get some heart tablets for her husband and to do some shopping for the family. The medicine was in a package with other articles and was placed by Mrs. Cottrell after her arrival home upon a shelf. While she and her husband were out attending to the duties about the home older children of the family got the package from the shelf, opened it and in some way the medicine got in the hands of the little child and was soon found by the parents in a state of convulsions. By the time a local physician could be secured the child was in dying condition. We are informed that only four of the twenty tablet could be found and is supposed the missing ones were taken, causing a very sudden action. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. F. Siler, were held at the Antioch Church, Sunday afternoon and interment was made at the cemetery nearby. Mr. and Mrs. Cottrell are excellent citizens and have the sympathy of all this, their sad hour of bereavement. - Phyllis Long posted that he was a son of J. J.
