This is a picture of my g-grandparents Harrison Tarleton Parker and his wife Elizabeth 'Bettie' Brown Parker. They were married in Linden, MO on Nov. 12, 1868. The young boy is Elizabeth's nephew Everett Brown. The photo was taken around 1892.
Harrison Tarleton Parker was from Phelps City, MO. He came to Atchison Co. at age 7 with his father and step-mother, John H. Parker and Rhoda 'Crosley' Parker around 1855 and lived there until after his marriage in 1868 when he and his new wife moved to Crab Orchard, Johnson Co., NE.
According to some info I got in Rock Port a week or so ago, Harrison's father, John H. Parker, was a minister in the Christian Church at Rock Port from 1855 to 1880. He also preached at the Christian Church in Phelps City and owned land bordering the Missouri River near Phelps.
