Mrs John Hagey Answers Summons
Death occured on Thursday evening following very short illness

Mrs Susan M. Hagey, wife of John Hagey, died at the family home in Burlington Junction [Nodaway co, Mo] at 7 o'clock Thursday evening. Her death was unexpected and was a shock to the family and friends. Her age was 67 years, 11 months and 17 days.

Mrs Hagey had been down town doing some shopping in the forenoon and complained of not feeling very well. She started home shortly before noon and a little later the family physician was summoned. Later in the evening she seemed to be improving, and friends of the family, who had come to be of what assistance they could, departed for their homes, leaving Mrs Hagey in care of her husband and Miss Elna Case, Dr Kindman's nurse.

Shortly before 7 o'clock Mrs Hagey suffered a relapse and her death occured a few minutes later. Death was caused by heart failure.

Susan Melvina Odell was born in Holt county, Mo., January 2, 1851. She was married to John Hagey August 9, 1866 and to this union seven children were born, six of whom survive her. Jula, the youngest, died in 1902 at the age of thirteen. Those living are: James E. Hagey of Burlington Junction, H.M. Hagey of Alexandria, Nebr, A.C. Hagey of Arcadia, Nebr., Mrs Cora Sears of Walworth, Nebr, Mrs Bertie M. McClary of Arcadia, Nebr, and Mrs Etta L. Headrick of Lansford, N Dak.

Mr and Mrs Hagey lived for many years on a farm southwest of Burlington Junction. They bought a modern home in town last winter and moved.
