Thomas, Leora Glee Love, the daughter of Thomas and Nella (Rhoten) Love, was born February 13, 1909 in Randolph, Iowa. Glee lived in southwest Iowa until moving to Watson, Missouri in 1921. She attended Pleasant Valley Country School and Watson Missouri schools.
In 1925, Glee was united in marriage to Homer Thomas at the Rock Port Methodist Episcopal Church, by Resident Pastor C. F. Jenkins. They made their home southeast of Rock Port where they farmed for more than 38 years, retiring in 1974. They moved to a home near the Rock Port water tower in 1984. Homer passed away in 1986. Glee passed away Monday, June 23, 2008 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port at the age of 99 years.
Glee had been a member of the Watson Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1924.
Besides her parents and husband Homer, Glee was preceded in death by one son, Dorwin Thomas; great-grandson James Reed Thomas; two brothers, John Love and Harold “Doc” Love; three sisters, Edith Michie, Ruby Frederick and Mary Love. Survivors include grandsons, Jerry Thomas and his wife Betsy, Rock Port; Jeff Thomas and his wife Jeannie Hamburg, Iowa; daughter-in-law, June Thomas, Hamburg, brother-in-law, Louis Fredrick, Des Moines, Iowa; 11 great-grandchildren, Mindy Walker and husband Bill, Kerry Thomas and wife Robin, Clint Thomas and wife Holli, Amy Reynolds, Anne Reynolds, Lora Burki and husband Chris, Julie Thomas, Beth Chatfield and husband Michael, Lacey Thomas, Dani Thomas, Jennifer Zink; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Will and Ben Walker, Hannah and Carter Thomas, Lestat Chatfield, Emilie Burki, Kylee Thomas, and Samantha, Kayle and Breezy; one great-great-great-granddaughter, Savannah, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment: Linden Cemetery, Rock Port.

Thompson, Dorothy Delila Gass -
Dorothy Delila Thompson, 86, of Rock Port, Mo., died July 12, 2001. She was born April 2,1915, in Dogwood, Douglas County, Mo., to William Everett and Rosa Alberta (Bookout) Gass. She married Clarence Luther Thompson on April 12,1934, in Ozark, Mo. They farmed in southern Missouri until 1936 when they moved to Fremont County where they raised their children and operated a 400-acre crop and livestock farm until 1970. They then moved to Rock Pork, Mo., where they operated Rock Port Mobile Homes, a 50-pad mobile home park. This was during the time that Cooper Nuclear Power Plant was being constructed near Brownville, Neb., Interstate Highway 1-29 and Missouri Beef Packers, Inc., were then being built and in operation and Rock Port and the surrounding area experienced a growth in population and business.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Gary Douglas Thompson; three sisters, Vesta Griffin, Golda Mae Gass and Mabel Riley; and three brothers, Lester, Millard and Walter Gass.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Luther and Jane Thompson of Rock Port, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jane and David Johnson of Omaha, Neb.; daughter-in-law, Dee Thompson of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Heckmaster of Joplin, Mo., and Elizabeth Downes of DeSoto, Mo.; two brothers, William of Granite City, Ill., and Paul of Sparta, Mo.
Memorial services were July 16 at Minter Funeral Home in Rock Port, Mo., with the Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date at Greenhill Cemetery in Rock Port, Mo. Minter Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Valley News, Shenandoah, Iowa, Jul 17, 2001

Tanner, Deborah Kay Grossman - Deborah Kay Grossman Tanner was born on March 9, 1952 in Hamburg, Iowa to Edith Jackson Grossman and Lloyd Grossman. Debbie attended Rock Port schools and worked as a general laborer most of her lifetime. In 1982, she married Larry Tanner. They were later divorced. Debbie attended Grace Community Church in Rock Port, Missouri.
Debbie is survived by her two children, Lorie Tanner of Clarinda, Iowa and Lance Tanner of the home. Additional survivors are brothers, Charles Reinier of Fairfax, Missouri; Steve Grossman and wife, Valerie of Rock Port; Tony Grossman and wife, Tammy of Fairfax; a sister, Sherry Ashford of Rock Port; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Record, an infant sister Connie, along with her grandparents, Lloyd and Lela Jackson.
In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, baking, playing bingo and spending time with her children and family.
On March 31, 2010, she passed away at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Tarkio, Missouri after a long battle with cancer. Debbie will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
