Rankin, William Stevenson, a man of faith and curiosity, entered the Lord's
arms on March 26, 2006. A memorial service was held at the First Presbyterian
Church of Mankato at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2006, for the long-time
resident of North Mankato. Interment of his ashes will be at the Blanchard
Cemetery, Blanchard, Iowa, on August 19, 2006.
Will was born in Tarkio, Missouri on July 19, 1918 to Charlotte Belle Stevenson
Rankin and William Freeman Rankin. He had four older sisters. In the fall
of 1936, Will enrolled in Tarkio College. There he met Ruth Kathleen Allen,
another student. Ruth and Will were married on June 3, 1939. They shared
66 years of devoted companionship, a union blessed by seven children. Will
died 71 days after his beloved Ruth.
After graduation in 1940, Will took a variety of positions teaching high
school science and coaching basketball and baseball in the Midwest. Will
and Ruth's first four children were born by the end of 1944. Will served
as a Naval officer in the Pacific during World War II.
Upon Will's return from the service in 1946, the family began farming in
southwestern Iowa. Three daughters were born during the years on the farm.
In the fall of 1956, Will began teaching science at Shenandoah, Iowa High
School, marking the beginning of a challenging transition from farmer to
college professor. The family lived in Arizona while Will completed a Masters
degree. He taught college and high school classes at Peru State College
in Peru, Nebraska for three years. Will then took an opportunity in the
Physics Department at Mankato State College in 1964. They settled in North
Mankato and Will taught physics until his retirement in 1982.
Retirement gave Ruth and Will the time to travel, to attend short-term courses
and to visit their family, who by this time were scattered across the country.
Will maintained his community ties by volunteering as a driver for "seniors,"
many of whom were younger than himself. He created crafts and woodworking
projects for school children. He was recognized as the Outstanding Senior
Citizen of Nicollet County in 1993.
Will's interests and talents were varied. He enthusiastically engaged in
many activities. Will earned an Eagle Scout badge as a youth and throughout
his life pursued his interest in the outdoors by canoeing, farming, bird
watching, gardening and being a conservationist.
He was a gifted educator and loved sharing knowledge with young and old.
Will was a scientist by profession and interest. He was curious about how
things worked. He saw God in the wonders of the world. He built clocks,
operated a ham radio, created with wood and clay. He also enjoyed the arts,
including photography, music, painting and pottery-making.
He brought ingenuity and common sense to daily living. Will was a good neighbor,
giving of his knowledge, his time and his resources generously. He was always
a caring son, brother, husband, uncle, father and grandfather.
Will was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth.
He is survived by their children Dan (and Jeanne) Rankin of South Pasadena,
California; Sam (and Diana) Rankin of Brook Park, Minnesota; Steve (and
Karen) Rankin of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; Charlotte Heidelberger (Gary, deceased)
of Coin, Iowa; Martha (and Tom) Fenger of Eagle River, Alaska; Louise Rankin
(and Ben Brown) of San Mateo, California; and Alice Hess of Eagle River,
Alaska; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial gifts may be made in Will's name to the Heifer Project International
or First Presbyterian Church, Mankato, Minnesota.

Reeves, Jesse Alan - Jesse Alan Reeves, the son of Jesse Howard and Deloris Iona (Tyler) Reeves was born June 25, 1963 in Fairfax, Missouri. He attended and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1981.
Alan lived in Tarkio his entire life and has worked for Burke and Sons Lumber Company, Rock Port, Missouri for over 20 years. For a brief time, he was employed by Brown’s Ag, also of Rock Port. Alan loved old cars and trucks. He built his own shop providing a place for him to enjoy his hobby. Alan was very quick witted and learned new skills easily. He passed away at his home in Tarkio on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the age of 45.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Jesse, on December 12, 2005; an aunt, Evelyn Purcell; uncles, Douglas Reeves, Jim Reeves, Kenneth Tyler and Clifford Reeves; paternal grandparents, Howard and Della Reeves; maternal grandfather, Lester W. Tyler; maternal grandparents, Verba and Jesse Lewis Reeves.
Survivors include his mother, Deloris Reeves, Tarkio; brother, David Reeves, Maryville, Missouri; sister, Charlotte Terhune and her husband, Phil, Arlington, Washington; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Louise Ross and her husband, Donald, Kirbyville, Missouri, Marjorie Tyler, Shenandoah, Iowa, and Diane Reeves, Ankeny, Iowa.

Reid, LaVona Maxine Stalcup - LaVona Maxine (Stalcup) Reid, the daughter of Gabriel Everett and Effie Leona (Worley) Stalcup, was born December 30, 1920 in Forbes, Missouri. She attended school in Oregon, Missouri, graduating in 1938 from Oregon High School. LaVona then attended Missouri State Teacher's College, Maryville, Missouri, where she earned her 60 hour teacher's certificate in 1940. LaVona would eventually earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri, in 1970.
On January 18, 1944, LaVona was united in marriage to Milton Reid in Wichita, Kansas. They became the proud parents of two children, Randy and Jacque Gayle. Milton passed away in 1985. LaVona passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the age of 88 years.
LaVona taught elementary school at Corning, Missouri from 1940 to 1942; and Forest City, Missouri in 1943. She then took time off from her career to raise her family. In 1966, she began substitute teaching, and taught Kindergarten in the Rock Port school system until 1971. From 1971 to 1980, LaVona taught 4th grade in Rock Port. She was awarded Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America in 1975. She then joined the faculty and administration at Tarkio College, where she taught in the education department from 1980 until her retirement in May, 1989. Her list of honors, awards and speaking engagements are too numerous to list. Most recently, the Rock Port High School students voted her as a "Community Hero". For 33 years, LaVona was devoted to the classroom, educating and touching the lives of countless students of all ages.
LaVona was a tireless Rock Port Blue Jay fan, supporting not only her family, but anyone who donned a Blue Jay uniform. Many of them called her "Grandma" because of her loyalty. She was also a great fan and cheerleader sponsor while at Tarkio College.
Besides her parents and her husband, Milton, LaVona is preceded in death by two brothers, Sparky and Max Stalcup. LaVona is survived by her son, Randy Reid and his wife, Cathy, St. Louis, Missouri and daughter, Jacque Gayle Gebhards and her husband, Gary, Rock Port; three grandchildren, Tad Gebhards and his wife, Michelle, Tyler Gebhards and his wife, Sarah and Tawni Gebhards; four great grandchildren, Carter, Grant, Logan and Reid; numerous nieces and nephews.

Renzulli, Carol Ann McCoy - Graveside servcies and inurnment for Carol Ann McCoy Renzulli of Lawrence, Kansas will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 11:00 am. at the Home Cemetery, Tarkio. There is no visitation.
Carol Ann, the daughter of Herbert and Florene (Williams) McCoy, was born July 1, 1943, in Tarkio. She attended the Tarkio public schools, graduating with honors in the Tarkio High School Class of 1961. Carol Ann attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where whe was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She later attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and Tarkio College, Tarkio.
Because of early health problems, Carol Ann left school and moved to the New York City, NY area where she was able to receive treatment at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine for her rare disorder, Wilson's Syndrome. The disease left Carol Ann in a wheelchair later in life, but she greeted every day with a beautiful smile. Unfortunately, the disease also robbed her of her wonder musical abilities. She was a talented pianist with a beautiful voice.
While in New York, Carol Ann met and married Lou Renzulli, a newspaperman working for Newsday. She enjoyed meeting the political and intellectual people that Lou encountered in his work. They were later divorced.
Carol Ann then returned to the Lawrence area, where she was active in Democratic politics. She was a Presbyterian. Carol Ann passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 in Lawrence at the age of 64 years.
Besides her parents, Carol Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Rolf.

Resler, Eula Glenn Jones - Eula Glenn (Jones) Resler, the daughter of William Thomas and Harriet Pansy (Fraser) Jones, was born in Boonville, Mississippi on August 29, 1920. She attended school in Booneville, graduating in 1938. Eula furthered her education by earning a two year teaching degree in Mississippi at a teacher’s college. She taught school for several years in the Boonville area.
On July 11, 1945, Eula was united in marriage to Robert Herman Resler in Boonville. After Eula and her family moved to the area, she was employed at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Missouri for 15 years.
Eula was a former member of the Presbyterian Church, Morning Circle, Night Owls, and the Chatterspin Club, all of Fairfax. Eula passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Community Hospital-Fairfax at the age of 89 years.
Besides her parents, Eula is preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who passed away in 1971; two sons, Thomas Herman Resler who passed away in 1978 and James Edgar Resler who passed away in 2005; and one brother, James O. Jones. Survivors include her son, Robert Fraser Resler, Fairfax; one nephew, Delmas Howell and his wife, Bonnie, Rock Port, Missouri; and other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rhoades, David Walter - Graveside services and interment were held for David Walter Rhoades, Jr., of Fairfax on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at 11 am at English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax. Reverend Jack Stark officiated. Services were under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel in Rock Port, Missouri.
David Walter, Jr., the son of Walter David, Sr. and Helen Melissa (Powers) Rhoades was born May 18, 1948 in rural Tarkio, Missouri. David attended school in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Lincoln, Nebraska.
On March 25, 1969, David was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Umbarger. They made their home in Fairfax, Missouri where they lived to the present time. David worked construction and as a welder for Lonnie Nance in Tarkio. They also moved houses and railroad depots along the tracks from Atchison County to Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was later employed by Buford Stoner in Fairfax as a blacksmith and welder, until ill health forced his retirement. David passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at his home in Fairfax at the age of 59 years.
David enjoyed fishing on the river, hunting for deer, squirrel, rabbit, coyote and raccoons. He also enjoyed playing poker.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Eugene Rhoades, and one sister, Diane Marie Bartlett. Survivors include his wife Shirley, Fairfax; four sons, Jeffery David Rhoades and his wife Patti, Shenandoah, Iowa, Victor Preston Rhoades, Bowling Green, Missouri, Jeremy Wayne Rhoades, Rock Port, Missouri and Christopher Daniel Bartlett and his wife Alison, Warrington, Oregon; six grandchildren, Sara Nicole Rhoades, David Lee Cobb, Elizabeth Marie Rhoades, Jeremy Wayne Rhoades, Jr., David John Bartlett, and Layci Diane Bartlett; one sister, Sharon Dale and her husband David, Council Bluffs, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rice, Wyatt Scott - Wyatt Scott Rice, the son of Adam Scott and Jessica Louise (Peak) Rice was born on January 6, 2007 in Springfield, Missouri. He passed away December 26, 2008 at his home in Rock Port, Missouri at the age of 1 year, 11 months, and 20 days.
Wyatt is survived by his parents and one sister, Aliana Rice, Rock Port; paternal grandparents, Scott and Sheila (Smith) Rice, Nixa, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Marion and Valerie Peak, Cedar Creek, Missouri; paternal great grandparents, Joe Rice, Cape Fair, Missouri, Gladys Pekarek, Niangua, Missouri, and John and Lola Smith, Miller, Missouri; paternal great great grandmother, Juanita Rice, Billings, Missouri; three aunts, two uncles, and numerous cousins.

Roberts, Thomas Franklin - Thomas Franklin Roberts, the son of Luther Nelson and Ida Mae (Winstead) Roberts, was born December 22, 1922 in Westboro, Missouri. He attended school at Tarkio, Missouri and Pleasant Mound country school in the Tarkio-Westboro area.
Tom enlisted in the United States Army on January 11, 1943, and proudly served his country during World War II. A highly decorated serviceman, Tom received his honorable discharge on November 4, 1945.
On March 13, 1948, Tom was united in marriage to Betty Jane Hall. They farmed
in the Watson and Rock Port, Missouri areas until retirement. They also enjoyed buying and selling antiques from their home, until Betty passed away in 2004. Tom passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port at the age of 87 years.
Besides his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; five brothers, Herman, Orville, Carl, Jim and John and one sister, Alma Shaw.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Robinson, David Roy, 57 passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at his home in Rock Port.
David was born in Unionville, Missouri, February 22, 1950. He attended school in Moberly, Missouri, graduating in 1968. David attended Bellevue University, Bellevue, Nebraska where he received a B.S. in Human Resources.
In 1970, David was united in marriage to Peggy Jones. Of this union, two children were born, Jon and Heather. They were later divorced. David was united in marriage to Norena Evans on April 5, 1990 in David City, Nebraska.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970 and served in the nuclear program as an instructor at the nuclear prototype in Idaho Falls, Idaho. David then served his country aboard the nuclear submarine, the USS Patrick Henry. In 1978, he received his honorable discharge. David then returned to Moberly, where he worked for the Thomas Hill Generating Station. In 1982, David moved to Rock Port where he was employed with Cooper Nuclear Station in Brownville, Nebraska. He held the position of Station Operator, and was later licensed as a Senior Reactor Operator. He then attained the position of Quality Assurance Manager, which he held until his retirement in 2003. After retiring, David began his own business, Amicus Consulting, which he operated from his home in Rock Port.
David was a member of the United Methodist Church, Rock Port; Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, Rock Port; and the Rock Port Optimist Club. He was a former board member of the Rock Port R-II School System and the Rock Port City Council. and had held the office of President while serving on the Board of Directors, Rock Port Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Norena of the home; parents, Roy and Lila Robinson, Rock Port; son and daughter, Jon and Heather Robinson, Omaha, Nebraska; step-daughter Halley Evans-Robinson and step-son Brent Dahlin, Rock Port; granddaughter Katie Robinson, Omaha; sister Janette Smith and husband Garrett, Rock Port; brother Robert Robinson and wife Teri, Denton, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Robinson, Lila Lou Henson, was born July 14, 1932 to Dr. Chester and Florence (Robinson) Henson in Boonville, Missouri. The family moved to Unionville, Missouri when she was four, where her father established his medical practice. Her parents divorced when she was quite young, so her early life was divided between Unionville and St. Louis, Missouri. When Florence went to Okinawa to work and mission, Lila and her brother Jim remained in Unionville with “Doc”. Her mother’s sisters, Levina and Oleva influenced her life also.
Lila married Roy Robinson on July 23, 1949. They had three children, David Roy, Janette Colleen and Robert Paul. Lila devoted her life to her family. She worked outside the home when the children where in school, but always took jobs that would make her available to them and Roy. She was a helpmate to Roy in his career and hobbies and she was the children’s biggest fan, rarely missing any event they were involved in. Lila was an accomplished seamstress, making most of her wardrobe, and would sew long into the night if there was a special occasion for anyone in the family. She loved crafts and would try anything. Lila loved to paint and later spent many hours quilting and stitching. Even as her health failed her early in life, she remained as active as she could. When her body failed her, she exemplified strength of character in her acceptance and determination to stay active and involved. She was a force to be reckoned with, never leaving any doubt what she thought. Lila loved her husband, her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She and Roy were a team for nearly 60 years. As her health failed, they moved to Rock Port, Missouri to be closer to her family. Lila passed away May 12, 2008 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port at the age of 75 years.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David. Survivors include her husband, Roy of the home in Rock Port; daughter and son-in-law Janette and Garrett Smith, Rock Port; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Terrie Robinson, Aubrey, Texas; daughter-in-law Norena Robinson, Rock Port; nine grandchildren, Wade Smith, Lieutenant Kalen Smith, Jon Robinson, Heather Robinson, Hallie Evans, Brent Dahlin, Ellie Schulz, Lauren Surkemer, Luke Robinson; five great grandchildren, Katie, Sadie, Zeke, Jack and Lincoln; brother and sister-in- law Jim and Karen Henson, Overland Park, Kansas; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services: Wednesday, May 14, 2008, 10:00 am at Minter Funeral Chapels, Rock Port. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.

Rogers, Fern Josephine Cooper, the daughter of Harmon G. and Grace M. (Meyerkorth) Cooper, was born March 9, 1909 at her home south of Rock Port, Missouri., where she had lived for approximately 80 years. Fern attended West Bend Country School south of Rock Port. In her youth, she was employed by many families performing household and farming duties.
She spent most of her years fulfilling her duties as a farm wife and working on the farm. Fern was employed at Bratrud's Dry Goods Store, and also catered many weddings and receptions with her sister, Hannah.
Fern was an excellent quilter and enjoyed her time spent with the Watson ladies, making many quilts by hand. She was also a wonderful cook.
Fern was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port, where she had been involved in the First Lutheran's Women's Circle. As a member of the Rock Port Chapter #440 Order of Eastern Star, Fern obtained the office of Worthy Matron. She also enjoyed her activities with the Peg-A-Way Club.
Several months ago, due to ill health, Fern became a resident of Pleasant View in Rock Port where she passed away April 12, 2007 at the age of 98.
Besides her parents, Fern was preceded in death by her husbands, Edgar Johnston and Harry Rogers; three sons-in-law, Harold Ray, Ellis Finken and Dick M. Van Gundy; one great-grandson, Colby Martin Van Gundy; two brothers, Harry J. Cooper and Clarence G. Cooper; five sisters, Rosie Rosenbohm, Hannah Bressler, Heibe May, Mildred Walker, Helen Pollock; one niece, Maxine Dalrymple; three nephews, Eugene Cooper, Kenneth Bressler, and Billie May.
Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Finken, Missouri Valley, IA, Julian Van Gundy, Tarkio; five grandchildren, Teresa Van Gundy Anderson, Burleson, TX, Gordon Van Gundy, Tarkio, Gail Ray Nichols, Fremont, NE, Steve Ray, Minden, NE, Cheryl Ray Jones, Tarkio, fourteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Dorothy Jean Bayless, Helen Richards, Shirley True, Jeanne Garst; nephews, Wilbur Lee Bressler and Kenneth Walker.

Rolf, Erwin Henry - Erwin Henry Rolf, the son of George and Minnie (Broermann) Rolf, was born in rural Westboro, Missouri on January 31, 1914. He attended Morning Sun country school and graduated from Westboro High School in May of 1931.
Erwin entered the United States Army and proudly served his country during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Westboro and began farming.
On April 10, 1942, Erwin was united in marriage to Lozie Elizabeth (Kitty) Fisher. They became the parents of two sons. Erwin spent his life farming and also enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator. Kitty passed away September 28, 1998. Erwin passed away August 28, 2008 at Elm Heights Nursing Home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 94 years.
Besides his parents, and wife Kitty, Erwin is preceded in death by one son, Steven Rolf, Sr.; one grandson, Steven Rolf, Jr., three brothers, Herbert Rolf, Edwin Rolf and Albert Rolf; one sister, Olga Tiemann.
Erwin is survived by his son, Dale Rolf and his wife Karen, Hope, Idaho, daughter-in-law, Pearl Ashton and her husband Bob, Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Rolf, Florence Margaret Kemper, the daughter of John Henry and Emma Nolte Kemper, was born March 3, 1923 in rural Tarkio, Missouri. She graduated from Tarkio High School and attended one year at Tarkio College. Florence then became a student at Immanuel School of Nursing in Omaha, NE., graduating as a registered nurse. She was employed by Hand Hospital in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Florence was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Westboro, MO. On October 10, 1946 Florence was united in marriage to Lester Rudolph Rolf at St. John's Lutheran Church. They lived near Westboro, Missouri, for nine years, then moved to the Kemper home place in the Farmer City community. She was a beloved wife and mother. Her life was centered on loving the Lord, her family, and many friends. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Florence was very active in the church, serving as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher, church secretary and a Girl Scout leader. She served many years as a member and an officer in LCW. Florence passed away Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 83 years.
Survivors include one son, Glenn Rolf and his wife Barbara, Tarkio; two daughters, Julia Snyder and her husband Pat, Tarkio and Kathleen Reynolds and her husband Tom, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Adam Rolf and his wife Rachel, Skylar and Jessica Rolf, Jana, Jonathan and Amy Snyder, and Julianne Hand and her husband Andrew; one great-grandson, Jacob Hand.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester in 1989.
Services were held 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the St. John's Church, Westboro, Missouri, with burial in the St. John's Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. John's Church.

Rosenbohm, Ellen Mae Schlup - Ellen Mae (Schlup) Rosenbohm, the daughter of Stuart Grant and Ruth Jane (Young) Schlup was born October 10, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. Following Ellen’s early education, she completed several nursing classes and earned her certification as a CNA.
Ellen was united in marriage to Marvin Irvin Rosenbohm on November 29, 1962 in Nettleton, Missouri. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Pleasant View Care Center, Rock Port, for several years. She spent the majority of her life being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was well known for her famous pumpkin bread, Christmas candy, and homemade noodles. Ellen was a terrific friend to many and adored as a grandmother. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Rock Port where she continued to be a member. She passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 63.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Larry Schlup and one nephew, Allen H. Rosenbohm II and his wife, Jolene, Tarkio; grandchildren, Levi and Chelsea Haynes, Lindsey and Torrey Hamilton, Nathaniel Nicolas, Shelby, Thomas and Saidee Gilliland and Slade and Garret Rosenbohm; sisters, Judith Anne Leppke and husband, Dave, Humboldt, Kansas, Carolyn Joyce Rosenbohm and husband, Allen, Rock Port, Sandra Lee Sumner, Tennessee and Debra Lynn Alrousan, Bolckow, Missouri; brothers, Michael Schlup and wife, Pamela, Washington, Richard Dwayne Schlup, Shenandoah, Iowa; second cousin and dear friend, Marietta Wedel and husband, Lawrence; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Rosenbohm, Lucy "Esther" Bressert - Lucy Esther Rosenbohm, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Howard) Bressert, was born on January 28, 1914 in Hill Top, Arkansas. She attended Cooper country school and graduated from Nishnabotna High School, Nishnabotna, Missouri in 1932. Following graduation, Esther attended business college in Grand Island, Nebraska.
On January 28, 1935, Esther was united in marriage to Virgil Earl “Toots” Rosenbohm. They made their home and farmed in the Rock Port, Missouri and Fairfax, Missouri area their entire married life. Esther was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, spending all her time caring for her family, and was her children and grandchildren’s greatest supporter. A gracious hostess, Esther was known for her excellent meals, while serving people in her home. She was an active member of the Rock Port Church of Christ. Esther passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
Besides her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her grandson, Joshua Rosenbohm and two sisters, Thelma Miller and Helen Bade.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Kay Ball and her husband, Steve, Urbandale, Iowa; two sons, Dennis Rosenbohm and his wife, Sharon, and Duane Rosenbohm and his wife, Kay, both of Fairfax; seven grandchildren, Alisa Cahill and her husband, Jay, Michael Ball, Brian Ball and his wife, Amanda, Dee Ann Crews and her husband, Sean, Steve Rosenbohm and his wife, Maria, David Rosenbohm and his wife, Stephanie and Chris Rosenbohm and his wife, Melissa; seven great grandchildren, Ben and Joe Cahill, Aaron and Ashlyn Crews, Dylan Rosenbohm, Tyler Rosenbohm and Ava Rosenbohm; and several nieces.

Rosenbohm, Pamela Louise Hale, 44, Elgin, Ill., passed away Monday, November 26, 2007 at St. Luke’s Northland in Kansas City, Missouri, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Pam was born March 1, 1963 in Prince Georgias County, Maryland, the daughter of Robert E. and Kay Hale.
Pam attended Lansing, Kansas High School, graduating in May of 1981. She then attended the University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, and Master’s Degree in Urban Planning. She was currently employed as City Planner for the Village of South Elgin, Illinois.
On January 21, 2002, Pam was united in marriage to David M. Rosenbohm in Key West, Florida. He, along with their one son Tyler Ashton, survive of their home in Elgin.
Other survivors include her parents, Robert and Kay Hale, Leavenworth, Kansas; father-in-law and mother-in-law Dennis and Sharon Rosenbohm, Fairfax, Missouri; sister-in-law Dee Ann Crews and her husband Sean; brother-in-law Steve Rosenbohm and his wife Maria, Greenwood, Indiana; one niece Ashlyn and two nephews, Aaron and Dylan.

Rosenboom, Hazel Lee Lyons - Hazel Lee (Lyons) Rosenboom, the daughter of Chester O. and Omah Jane (Branic) Lyons, was born June 18, 1916 in Hamburg, Iowa. She attended rural schools in Hamburg, Sidney, Iowa and Thurman, Iowa.
In August 18, 1935, Hazel was united in marriage to Menne Rosenboom in Shelbyville, Missouri by her grandfather, Reverend Branic.
The couple lived in Langdon, Missouri, Fairfax, Missouri and Westboro, Missouri where they farmed for local farmers. In 1965, they moved to Tarkio, Missouri, where they lived the remainder of their married life. Menne passed away in 1992. Hazel was employed as a midwife, and then studied to become a licensed practical nurse. She worked at the Fairfax Hospital, Bethesda Nursing Home in Tarkio and the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port, Missouri. Hazel also worked in private home health care. She passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Douglas County Nursing Home in Omaha at the age of 92 years.
Hazel was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Rock Port, Missouri, (since 1936), and past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club in Tarkio
Besides her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by one daughter, Omah Jean Rosenboom; and one great-great grandson, Jayden Hudson, two sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include one son, Charles Rosenboom, Omaha, foster daughter, Mary Hudson, Rock Port; three grandchildren, Christina Hudson and Charles Hudson, both of Rock Port, and Chad Rosenboom, Council Bluffs, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Jarod Hudson, Jacob Sturtz and Catherine Crowner, one sister, Jenny Matthew, Lakewood, Colorado; and one brother, Chester Lyons, Cairo, Missouri.

Ryan, Mary Idell Ivy, the daughter of Rufus and Elsie Jane (Roberts) Ivy was born May 25, 1926 in Tarkio, Missouri. She graduated from Tarkio High School and attended Tarkio College for two years. She was then employed by the Farmers and Valley Bank in Tarkio.
On September 5 or 30th, 1947 she was united in marriage to Maurice F. (Posey) Ryan at St. Paul's Catholic Church by Father Yehle in Tarkio. In 1948, they began farming in the Tarkio community. In 1956, they moved to their present home east of Tarkio where they continued to rear their family of seven children Mary was a farm wife throughout her life, working along side Posey in all aspects of the operation. She was also active in many charitable organizations, including 4-H, the Girl Scouts of America, St. Anne's Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Posey passed away on August 27, 2004. Mary passed away Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail and Bruce Roorda, Craig, Missouri, Lt. Col. Maureen and Lt. Col. Paul Howard, Williamsburg, Virginia; five sons, Michael and Debora Ryan, Lenexa, Kansas, Timothy Paul Ryan, Tarkio, Lt. Col. Ret. Thomas Edward and Suzanne Ryan, Leavenworth, Kansas, John Patrick and Brenda Ryan, Mound City, Missouri, James Colin and Helen Ryan, Cincinnati, Ohio.; and seven grandchildren, Katie, Kevin and Erin Ryan, and Megan, Melissa and Will Ryan, and Ian Howard.
Besides her parents, and husband, Posey, Mary was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Freeman and Alice Ivy; brothers, Marshall (Toad) Ivy, Harry Ivy, Don Ivy and Ralph Ivy.

Rolf, Kenneth Rudolph - Kenneth Rudolph Rolf, age 90, the son of Henry F. and Carrie L. (Bredensteiner) Rolf, was born July 7, 1914, on the family farm near Northboro, Iowa, and passed away April 21, 2005, at the Shenandoah Memorial Hospital in Shenandoah, Iowa.
Growing up near Northboro, Kenneth graduated from the Northboro High School in 1932 and continued living and farming on the family farm until his retirement. For the past seven years he was a resident at Fair Oaks Care Center in Shenandoah. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where he looked forward to attending on Sundays. Besides enjoying farming Kenneth was an avid reader.
Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Richard, of Shenandoah; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jerry Smith of Burlington, Iowa; nephews, Mark and Russ Smith of Burlington and Richard Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; plus other relatives and friends.

Riordan, Owen Redmond - Owen Redmond Riordan, the son of Dr. John Joseph and Alice (Floyd) Riordan, was born on September 23, 1934, in Long Island, New York. He attended school in Tarkio, Missouri, graduating from high school in 1952. Owen then attended Tarkio College and graduated from Drury University in 1956.
In 1998, Owen was united in marriage to Patricia L. Brooks. They made their home in Baytown, Texas, where they resided to the present time. Owen managed family properties in Kansas City, Missouri and Tarkio. He was a talented “handy man”, able to fix any plumbing, electrical, or carpentry needs. Owen passed away May 18, 2010 at Cedar Bayo Nursing Home in Baytown, Texas, at the age of 75 years.
Owen was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roland Keith Riordan. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Patricia Riordan, Baytown and brother, John Floyd Riordan, Kansas City, Missouri.
Graveside service and interment: 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2010, Home Cemetery, Tarkio.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
