Davey, Genevieve LeFever - Genevieve LeFever Davey was born on February 25, 1919 in Keytesville, Missouri; the daughter of Ralph and Thelma (Hulterman) Wright. Genevieve entered peacefully into rest on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port, Missouri surrounded by her loving family.
When Genevieve was 1 year old her family moved to Randolph, Iowa where she spent her youth. She attended school in Randolph and also in Imogene. In 1936 she was united in marriage to Lyle LeFever in Savannah, Missouri. The couple was blessed to share 50 years together before Lyle's passing on August 11, 1986. The couple lived in Coin, Sidney, and Randolph before eventually making their home in Farragut where they lived for 45 years. In 1989 Genevieve was united in marriage to John Davey. The couple enjoyed several memorable years together.
Genevieve was a very loving and friendly person. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her son, who was born after 19 years of marriage, was a true miracle to Genevieve. He was the joy of her life. She never missed any of Jerry's sporting or school activities. She was known by many for the numerous chickens and eggs that she sold. This honor even gave her recognition on KQTV. Her wonderful home cooking was enjoyed by many of the students that she served at the Farragut Schools for the 13 years that she served as Head Cook. While living in Farragut she was a member of the Non Such Club from 1960-1968. Other interests of Genevieve's included gardening, music, dancing, and laughing and telling jokes.
She had a strong faith and love for the Lord. Her faith helped to support her as she faced many adverse health conditions and the loss of her two husbands. She attended the Methodist Church in Randolph, the Randolph Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Shenandoah and upon moving to Rock Port attended the Rock Port Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Lyle LeFever and John Davey, brothers Warren Wright and Glenn Wright, step daughter-in-law Eileen Davey and step-grandson Michael Davey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved son Jerry LeFever and wife Carolyn of Rock Port, MO; grandchildren Bradley LeFever of Omaha, NE, Kari Rush and husband Eric of Omaha, NE and James Sperber of St. Joseph, MO; stepsons Jim Davey of Shenandoah, IA and Bob Davey and wife Patty of Chicago, IL; step grandchildren Kevin, Brian, Lauren, Brad, and Erin Davey; other relatives and dear friends.
