Another rail-road boom is about to strike the town, and it is one that will count, too. The road is to be known as the Mississippi Central, and will run from Omaha to Houston Texas. It will come down the Missouri river through Iowa via this city and Savannah to Plattsburg and thence east to Brunswick, then it will go on through Jefferson City, to St Louis and from thence to its terminus in Texas. Engineers are now looking over a portion of the route and it is said that the enterprise is in the hands of men whose repuation for putting such thing through, insures it success. Two railroads are what Rock Port wants and is going to have. Just jot this down on the "tablets of your memory."
