Mrs. Gertrude Myrtle Reed
Mrs. Gertrude Myrtle Reed, 81, Maryville, former Pickering resident, died a 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Job East Haven nursing home Maryville, where she had been a patient three years following a long illness.

She was born Feb. 15, 1893 at Burlington Jct., the daughter of the late William H. and Sarah Darby Nicholas. On Feb. 24, 1915 she was married to John Miller, who preceded her in death Feb. 4, 1928. Then on Aug. 29, 1931, she was married to Loren Reed, who died May 7, 1971. She was member of the Pickering United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Wilson and John D. Miller, Maryville; five daughters, Mrs. Philip O'Riley, Hopkins; Mrs. Ray Ulmer, Pickering; Mrs. Verlin Morrow and Mrs. Howard Beason, Maryville, and Mrs. Ronald Ulmer, Skidmore; 23 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred Paxton officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Jct. The family will meet friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to a memorial fund at the Pickering United Methodist Church. —

Mrs. Sadie Springs Dies
Funeral for Hopkins Resident Will Be Held Tuesday
Mrs. Sadie Springs, 61 years of age, died at 11 o'clock last night at her home in Hopkins after a several months illness. She had been a long-time resident of Hopkins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Young funeral home in Hopkins, conducted by Jack Lyle of Easton. Burial will be in Hopkins cemetery.

The only surviving relative is a brother, Jacob Musser of Plattsburg.

Everett H. Ulmer Dies; To Hold Rites at Hopkins
Everett Hebron Ulmer, 73-year-old Hopkins resident, died at 4:27 o'clock Monday afternoon at a nursing home in St. Joseph following a long illness. He had lived his entire life in Hopkins community. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Mr. Ulmer was a member of the Hopkins Baptist church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday afternoon in the Baptist church of Hopkins with the Rev. Wilbur Thorlakson officiating. Burial will be in the Hopkins cemetery.

He was born February 17, 1874, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James W. Ulmer. He was married to Mrs. Nettie [Mettie] Ulmer, December 12, 1895. She died October 2, 1943.

He is survived by two sons, Galen and Cleo Ulmer, Hopkins; one daughter, Mrs. Verda Bridgewater, Hopkins; one brother, George B. Ulmer, Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Services Held For Everett H. Ulmer
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hopkins for Everett H. [ebron] Ulmer, 73-year-old lifelong Hopkins resident, who died Monday in St. Joseph.

The Rev. Wilbur Thorlakson, pastor, conducted the services. Music was provided by a quartet composed of Mrs. Wesley Brown, Mrs. Robert Andrew, the Rev. Elba Martin and Lawrence Wiley. They were accompanied by Mrs. Wiley, pianist.

Pallbearers were Henry Brown, T. J. Louis, Harry King, Beryl Mathers, Harold Davis and Harold Baldwin.

Miss Margaret Bridgewater, Miss Beverly Ulmer, Miss Opal Orme, Mrs. Henry Brown and Mrs. Harold Davis were in charge of the flowers.
Burial was in the Hopkins cemetery.

Mrs. Mettie Ulmer Dies at Her Home in Hopkins
Mrs. Mettie Myrtle Ulmer, 69 years of age, died at 11 o'clock Saturday night at the family home in Hopkins following a long illness.

Mrs. Ulmer was born September 2, 1874, near Hopkins, and was married December 12, 1895 to E.[verett] H. [ebron] Ulmer. She had resided in the Hopkins vicinity most of her life.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Galen Ulmer, and C. J. Ulmer, and one daughter Mrs. Ivan Bridgewater, all of Hopkins; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one brother, Ora C. Morehouse, Represa, Calif.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church in Hopkins with the pastor, Rev. Dan R. Gott, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Orlo S. Lincoln, pastor of the Christian church of Hopkins.

County's Oldest Resident Dies
I. N. Wray, Centenarian and Civil War Veteran, Dies Late Yesterday
Isaac Newton Wray, Nodaway county's oldest resident and a Civil War veteran, died at 5:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Irvin Loch, at the east edge of Maryville, almost six months after he had observed his 100th birthday anniversary.

Mr. Wray had been at the home of a son, Ernest Wray, northeast of Maryville and had gone to Mrs. Loch's home to spend the day yesterday. He became ill about noon but had visited with his family during the afternoon. His death came suddenly.

The oldest Mason in the United States, Mr. Wray had belonged to the lodge for seventy-three years. In addition to his Civil War services, he was a retired farmer, a former sheriff, collector and was a grocer in Maryville at one time. He also guarded stages and mail between St. Joseph and Atchison and later between St. Joseph and Laramie, Wyo.
Settled Near Pickering
Mr. Wray was born in Lawrence county, Ohio, December 8, 1839, and came to Nodaway county in the spring of 1854, settling four and one-half miles southeast of Pickering.

He was married to Sarah Crane December 31, 1866. Her death occurred twenty-four years ago and since then Mr. Wray had made his home with his children.

He is survived by eight children, Mrs. Loch, Ernest Wray and Omar Wray, Maryville; Mrs. Harry Lett and Mrs. E. [dward] A. Miller, Hopkins; Vern Wray, Hamburg, Ia.; Roland Wray, Sioux Falls, S. D., and Harry Wray, Elkhorn, Neb.

A sister, Mrs. Jennie Conrad of Maryville; a brother, J. Arthur Wray, Redlands, Calif., and a large number of grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Friday
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Methodist church in Maryville with burial in Myrtle Tree cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.

Dr. W. H. Hackman, pastor, will conduct the services, assisted by Rev. J. J. Cokeley of Cameron, former Pickering pastor, and Rev. Paul Barton, pastor of the Hopkins Methodist church.

Pallbearers and flower girls will be grandsons and granddaughter. A Masonic service at the grave will be in charge of the Pickering lodge.

Funeral services for I. [saac] N. [ewton] Wray were held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the First Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, Dr. W. H. Hackman, assisted by Rev. J. J. Cokely of Cameron and Rev. Paul Barton of Hopkins. Burial was in Myrtle Tree cemetery with services in charge of the Maryville and Pickering Masonic lodges.

Six grandsons, Lawrence and Robert Wray, Paul Loch, Milton Wray, Raymond Lett of Excelsior Springs and Harlan Wray of Hamburg, Ia., were pallbearers. Flower girls were Mrs. Frank Wray of Hamburg, Mrs. Henry DeMott, Mrs. Albert DeMott, Mrs. Robert Wray, Mrs. Lawrence Wray, Mrs. Milton Wray, Mrs. Paul Loch and Mrs. Delmar Groves.

All eight children of Mr. Wray were here for the funeral. Harry Wray of Elkhorn, Neb., and Vern Wray of Hamburg returned to their homes last night. Another son, Roland Wray, will return to his home at Sioux Falls, S. D. tomorrow.

Were At Wray Funeral
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Besinger, Misses Birdie and Jessie Besinger and J. C. Besinger attended the funeral of their great uncle, I. [saac] N. [ewton] Wray, which was conducted last Saturday in the First Methodist church in Maryville by the Rev. W. H. Hackman, assisted by the Rev. J. J. Coakley of Cameron and the Rev. Paul Barton of Hopkins. Wray was 100 years old last December.

Assisted With Funeral
Rev. J. Jay Cokely was at Maryville Friday assisting with the funeral of I. [saac] N. [ewton] Wray. Mr. Wray, 100 years old last November, was the oldest Mason in the United States. He was the father of 13 children, 8 of whom are living and were present for the funeral. Rev. Cokely and Mr. Wray had been friends for 35 years.

"Aunt Sally" Was Known Widely and Funeral Today Was Unusually Large
Mrs. Isaac N. [ewton] Wray, known to everyone as "Aunt Sally," died at her home in Pickering Sunday morning at 1:30 o'clock, after a long illness. The cause of her death was diabetes.

Mrs. Wray is survived by her husband and eight children and one brother and sister. The children are Harry of Seward, Neb.; Ernest, Omer, Roland, Mrs. Harry Lett and Mrs. Irvin Loch of Pickering, Mrs. Ed Miller, Hopkins, and Vern of Maryville. H. T. Crane is a brother and Mrs. Anna Hagins of Maryville is a sister.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at the Methodist church. The Rev. Cokely of Rock Port, a former minister. Burial was in the Pickering cemetery.

Those who attended the funeral from Maryville today were: Mrs. C. L. Wells, Mrs. J. E. Stewart, Mrs. A. D. Strong, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Hooker, Mr. and Mrs. Newt Hagins, Ms. Anna Hagins, Dr. and Mrs. Jesse Miller, Miss Clara Wray and H. T. Crane.

Mrs. Isaac N. Wray – The esteem in which "Aunt Sally" Wray was held was shown at the funeral services which were held Monday afternoon at the Myrtle Tree church. During the services the business houses and schools of Pickering were closed and friends of "Aunt Sally" from all over the county and northwest Missouri attended.

The Rev. J. J. Cokely of Rock Port, a former pastor of the Methodist church at Pickering, conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. E. J. Kelley. Burial was in the Myrtle Tree cemetery. The pall bearers were the four sons and two sons-in-law of the deceased: Harry, Ernest, Omer and Verne Wray, Dr. Ed Miller of Hopkins and Irvin Loch.

Sarah Crane was born July14, 1847, in Seymour, Ind. At the age of 12 years she was left an orphan. When 19 years old she came to Nodaway county. December 31, 1866, she married Mr. Wray. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Wray lived in and near Maryville. At one time "Uncle Newt" Wray was sheriff of the county. For a time, he was in business in this city. Mr. and Mrs. Wray moved from their home on a farm northeast of Maryville to Pickering ten years ago, buying the C. A. Wolfers property. Later they built a cozy home in Pickering.

Thirteen children were born to them, eight of whom are living. They are: Harry Wray, Seward, Neb.; Ernest Wray and Verne Wray, Maryville; Mrs. Ed Miller, Hopkins; Roland and Omer Wray, Pickering; Mrs. Harry Lett and Mrs. Irvin Loch, Pickering. She is also survived by her husband, one sister and one brother, Mrs. A. M. Hagins and H. T. Crane of Maryville, and two half-brothers, Cyrus Parker of near Maryville and J. T. Parker of Seward, Neb. Mrs. Wray had been a member of the Methodist church since 1867.

The out-of-town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. A. M. Hagins, Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Crane, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Smith, J. Arthur Wray and Walter Wray, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Parker, Dr. and Mrs. Jesse Miller, Miss Clara Wray, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Hooker, all of Maryville, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Parker, Seward, Neb.; Ed Green, Stanberry; Will Stewart, Valley Falls, Kan., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wray of Whitesville, Mo.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Cokely of Rockport, Mo. Interment was made in the Pickering cemetery.
