Weaver, Virginia Pearl Clark - Virginia Pearl (Clark) Weaver was born February 26, 1927 in Parnell, Missouri the daughter of John Clark and Elma (Groves) Clark. Virginia attended school in the Parnell and Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1944. After graduating in the spring of 1944, Virginia attended Maryville's Teacher College that summer. There she obtained her teaching certificate and began teaching the following fall in a country school south of Sheridan. Virginia met her soul mate during this time… and on May 28, 1945 she married Duane LeRoy Weaver in Troy, Kansas. To this loving union five sons were born; Larry, Terry, Dale, Richard, and Delvin.
Duane and Virginia moved several times as their family continued to grow through the years. However, wherever they moved one thing was certain, they would work side by side and help one another with work, chores, and raising and loving their children. In 1963 Virginia and Duane moved to a farm near Blockton and began farming for themselves. In 1972 they bought their farm west of Sharpsburg where Virginia continued to live until her health would not allow her to stay on the farm.
Virginia loved the farm life and enjoyed the beauty and lifestyle it provided. She was never afraid of hard work and was able to keep up with Duane and the boys no matter the task. Whether it was milking cows, dressing chickens, or any other task that the farm required Virginia was up to the challenge.
Through the years Virginia enjoyed many hobbies and belonging to various clubs as well. Virginia was a wonderful cook and enjoyed raising a vegetable garden each season. She also had many flower gardens she enjoyed through the years. She was a wonderful artist and could quilt beyond belief. Virginia could take an image or object from a picture or photo and seamlessly transition it to a quilt block. A talent she used often as she made countless quilts through the years for almost all of her family and those in need. Virginia enjoyed traveling with Duane in later years and also going to the Iowa State Fair with the Clearfield Lion's Club. Virginia was a member of The Sharpsburg Methodist Church and later a member of The Bedford Methodist Church as well. The greatest hobby and joy in her life was her family though. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren can attest to her constant love, patience, grace and forgiveness. The love Virginia displayed to not only her family but all those around her is what she will be remembered for the most and missed the greatest.
Left to cherish Virginia's memory are her five sons; Larry Weaver and wife Sharon of Sharpsburg; Terry Weaver and wife Trudy of Sharpsburg; Dale Weaver and wife Treasa of Lenox; Richard Weaver and wife Maureen of Creston; and Delvin Weaver and wife Patti of Des Moines; sister Carol May and husband Johnny; sister-in-laws Thelma, Mary Ann, Fern, and Mary Fern; brother-in-law Paul Campbell; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Virginia in death are her husband Duane, parents John and Elma, and two sisters, Minerva and Donna.
May God grant comfort to all that loved and knew Virginia. Her loving spirit will continue on throughout her entire family
